Now that the domestic season is over for all major European leagues, clubs can now focus on their preparations for the 2025/26 campaign, with a natural focus on recruitment.

Article continues under the video

The big spenders will be out in force again, with Real Madrid looking to back new boss Xabi Alonso, Chelsea keen to improve again after securing Champions League qualification, and Manchester United desperate to reclaim some kind of success after a disastrous season that saw them finish just three places above the relegation zone in the Premier League.

The Red Devils have signed Matheus Cunha, with Man City also flexing their financial power to sign Tijani Reijnders, Rayan Ait-Nouri, Marcus Bettinelli and Rayan Cherki.

Some big deals happened earlier than usual due to the Club World Cup and the deadline for participation in that tournament is now over, though the window remains open.

Some questions that will hang over the transfer window this season:

  • Will Viktor Gyokeres leave Sporting CP?
  • Who will sign Victor Osimhen?
  • How much can Barcelona spend?
  • Will top players want to join Man Utd?
  • Will Arsenal sign a world-class striker?

Fofana happy at Chelsea

Wesley Fofana insists he is happy at Chelsea and won't be moving on this summer.

Injury issues have ravaged his tenure at Stamford Bridge since his massive £80 million transfer from Leicester a few years ago to the point where he is no longer first-choice under Enzo Maresca.

Chelsea are reportedly in the market for a new centre-back, too, but the player himself says he's not leaving.

“I'm a Chelsea player and I'm proud, I don't want to go anywhere. I'm happy here, thanks. Is that clear enough?," he said at the Club World Cup.

Barca have a laundry list of left wingers on their shortlist!

Two more clubs in for Joao Palhinha

Aston Villa and Brighton have joined Man Utd in the race for Joao Palhinha, reports Bild.

Despite arriving in Bavaria for a lofty price tag from Fulham, the Portugal international hasn't been awarded as much first-team opportunities as he'd like by head coach Vincent Kompany.

Palhinha recently suggested he could leave Bayern, telling Sky Germany: "My contract here still has three years left.

"I want to play for this club. But I have to discuss with the coach and the sporting directors personally whether I'll get my chance here. I really hope so! But if not, we'll have to wait and see and find the best solution."

Palace want Josh Acheampong on loan

Crystal Palace are keen to sign Josh Acheampong on loan from Chelsea.

A number of players have made the switch to Palace from Chelsea recently, most notably Trevoh Chalobah and Marc Guehi.

The Telegraph reports that Acheampong could be the latest player to join that list.

Napoli make €55m offer for Darwin Nunez

Napoli have tabled a huge bid for Darwin Nunez.

The Uruguayan looks likely to leave Liverpool this summer but the Reds are standing firm on their valuation, as it is believed that Napoli's €55m will be rejected.

The Italian giants want to sign another striker, with Victor Osimhen set to leave, to partner Romelu Lukaku or act as backup.

Should Nunez not be signed, Napoli will turn their attention to Lorenzo Lucca. (Di Marzio)

The Blues NEED to sell

West Ham and Leeds target to leave current club

Slavia Prague boss Jindrich Trpisovsky says West Ham and Leeds target El Hadji Malick Diouf is set to leave the club.

“The situation surrounding El Hadji Malick Diouf? It's always the same. We're all thinking about a transfer,” he told reporters.

“It's a matter of time. The club's management is taking care of it. Malick has an individual plan, we don't want to take any risks. He's a player with extraordinary qualities, and he will have them for the future. Slavia's demands must be met, but we believe he will leave.” (Standard)

SIX clubs in for Neil El Aynaoui

No less than six clubs want to sign Lens midfielder Neil El Aynaoui.

The Morocco international impressed in Ligue 1 last season, with eight goals scored from midfield in 24 matches.

According to FootMercato, his six suitors are Leeds, Sunderland, Wolves, Roma, Milan and Juventus.
