How Arsenal will finance €70m Eze deal after Gyokeres signing
Arsenal have worked out a way to finance the €70 million signing of Crystal Palace star Eberechi Eze.
Arsenal are close to completing the €80 million signing of Viktor Gyokeres from Sporting Lisbon so the news on Monday from David Ornstein that the Gunners are exploring a deal for Eze came as something of a surprise.
Eze will cost suitors €70m - the release clause in his Crystal Palace contract - but The Independent reports that Arsenal are working on a way they can afford this amount.
Miguel Delaney claims that Arsenal would pay three instalments of €23.33m to match Crystal Palace's payment terms and take the final fee up to the €70m release clause.
This would also allow Arsenal to have the finances to pay the fee and not fall foul of the Premier League’s profit and sustainability (PSR) rules.
Eze to Arsenal?
The report adds that Eze wants to join Arsenal, although Liverpool are lurking and considering their own offer.
The Gunners are very busy in the market and, having already secured Martin Zubimendi and Kepa Arrizabalaga, they are working on many other targets such as Cristhian Mosquera, Viktor Gyokeres, Noni Madueke and Christian Norgaard.
Eze, who famously scored the winner in the FA Cup final against Man City, has become one of the Premier League’s most admired players in recent years.
He is expected to leave Palace this summer in order to make the next step up.
Eze has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €62.7m, so his release fee is not seriously above his true worth.
