Endrick is struggling for minutes at Real Madrid, prompting links with numerous Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, Aston Villa and Manchester United.

More than two years after joining, the Brazil international is still waiting for his big breakthrough in the Spanish capital. Endrick has failed to nail down a regular starting spot, and he is currently having to fight tooth and nail just to get any kind of minutes.

Untimely injuries have derailed his promising career, and he once again finds himself on the outside looking in. Last season, his lack of action under Xabi Alonso prompted him to join Lyon on loan. It turned out to be a mixed six months in France.

This summer, Endrick was reportedly on the verge of temporarily joining AS Roma, but new manager Jose Mourinho successfully convinced him to stay. To date, however, the Portuguese has failed to hold up his end of the bargain.

The 20-year-old has played just four minutes this season. A pre-season injury saw him slip below Carlos Espi in the pecking order, and he has only featured in one out of a possible five games so far.

Endrick surprise in January?

Endrick returned to match fitness in early September, yet Mourinho only used him briefly against Elche in the youngster's third game back. He hasn't been seen on the pitch since.

He was an unused substitute against Atletico Madrid ahead of the extended international break and, despite playing three times for Brazil, he did not get an opportunity to feature against Villarreal on Saturday.

Given his lack of minutes, transfer speculation has been rampant in recent weeks. It has been claimed that his verbal agreement to join Roma could be revived in January, while he has also been associated with AC Milan.

In the Premier League, Arsenal and Man Utd are said to be keeping tabs on his situation, while more recently, Aston Villa have been strongly linked with the striker. Real Madrid, for their part, are said to be warming to the idea of another loan.

However, at this stage, a January deal is far from guaranteed. At least that's according to Alan Redmond, the head of football at Endrick's agency RocNation. Speaking to AdnKronos, he voiced his belief that the attacker won't move in January.

"The financial aspect isn’t important; the player evaluates the club’s project," Redmond explained. "We’re talking about a player with the qualities to be at Real Madrid; he just needs opportunities.

"Endrick came from a loan spell at Lyon and played very well in France, then he had some problems, and I think it was also quite frustrating for him not to be at his best physically.

"However, the idea has always been to stay in Madrid. We’ll see what happens in the future, but honestly, I think he’ll stay at Real Madrid for a long time. That’s my opinion."

When confronted with the recent speculation, Redmond said: "I don’t think he’ll move. The clubs mentioned are fantastic, but I don’t think he’ll go play anywhere else."
