The Gunners announced Mikel Arteta’s new four-year deal earlier this week and they have now turned their attention to tying three of their most important players down to fresh terms.

Rice, Timber and Odegaard all have less than two years remaining on their current contracts at the Emirates Stadium, and the north London giants are desperate to finalise new deals as soon as possible, with TEAMtalk reporting that negotiations are progressing well.

It’s understood that Arsenal will use the upcoming November international break to finalise contract details with the trio, who have a combined Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €238.5 million.

Discussions with all three players have been ongoing for several months and Arsenal are hopeful that agreements will be reached next month, with the club ready to turn their full attention to contract negotiations with Rice, Timber and Odegaard after announcing Arteta’s new deal.

TEAMtalk report that Arsenal want all three players to have put pen to paper on their new deals before the January transfer window opens, with the Gunners hierarchy then set to scour the market for possible opportunities.

Declan Rice issues verdict on Mikel Arteta’s new contract

Arteta signed his new contract at Arsenal last week and the aforementioned Rice has heaped praise on the club for finalising an extended deal with the Spaniard.

“It's just tactically, training, managing, the detail he goes into, the things he sees that you would never see. He's constantly watching you when you don't think you're being watched,” Rice told ESPN when asked about the Gunners boss.

“He's watching, constantly asking questions to try and catch you out, to see if you're listening. He's always keeping you on your toes, making sure that you're ready.

“Every time we go into games, tactically we know what we're doing. Defensively, with the ball, how we're going to beat the opposition. It's just the fine details, the way he breaks everything down, which makes him the best for me.

“It's amazing that he [Arteta] signed a new contract and we get to have him as our manager for the next four years. So, we'll be very lucky.”
