Enzo Fernandez update

Manchester City boss Enzo Maresca has claimed that his side will not move for Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, despite significant interest in the Argentina superstar.

It was reported that Chelsea had set a deadline of 17:00 BST on Friday 14 August to sanction a sale, with City informed that a deal wouldn't take place unless a €140 million bid is submitted by that time.

“In this moment I have to give you the same answer since day one, which will be always the same. He is a player from another club and I don't think it's correct to talk about other players. I'm not going to say anything about players who are not with us,” Maresca told reporters on Friday.

When asked directly about the deadline that Chelsea have set and whether Man City will make a move, Maresca replied with a smirk: “Not today, to be honest. I don't think we're going to do something today.”

Reports have confirmed that the deadline came and went with no formal offer from City or any other club. The Manchester side could still attempt a bid this summer, but Chelsea now fully expect Fernandez to stay.

Ryan Kavuma-McQueen joins Portsmouth

Chelsea academy winger Ryan Kavuma-McQueen has officially joined Portsmouth on a season-long loan deal.

Upon confirmation of the move, Pompey boss John Mousinho said: “Ryan is a very talented young player with bags of potential and we’re delighted to have him at Pompey this season.

“He is quick, direct and can play off both sides. He’s someone who is very highly rated – both by us and Chelsea. Ryan has had minutes for them in pre-season this year and we believe he fits into the way we want to play nicely.

“It will be a challenge for him to be away from home and in a first team environment for a sustained period, but he’s an exciting addition to our squad.”

Josh Acheampong to Coventry?

Coventry City boss Frank Lampard is reportedly interested in signing Chelsea starlet Josh Acheampong on loan for the 2026-27 season.

The Sky Blues are preparing for their first campaign in the Premier League in 26 years and they have already spent €107.7 million on new signings so far this summer, with Caleb Yirenkyi, Carl Rushworth, Loum Tchaouna, Aurele Amenda, Gustavo Hamer and Frank Onyeka all arriving at the CBS Arena.

They have now earmarked Chelsea star Acheampong as a potential target, according to talkSPORT, Lampard himself reportedly driving their pursuit of his signature.

However, it remains to be seen if Chelsea will permit a deal.

Omari Kellyman to Strasbourg talks

Chelsea are reportedly close to agreeing a deal to sell Omari Kellyman on a permanent deal to sister club Strasbourg.

The 20-year-old scored 11 goals and provided two assists in 36 league games on loan at Cardiff City last season, playing a pivotal role as they secured an immediate promotion back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

Cardiff had hoped to bring Kellyman back to the club for the upcoming campaign and there was confidence that a deal would be struck with Chelsea, with the player himself keen to return to the Welsh capital.

However, the Premier League giants are now close to agreeing a “significant permanent deal” with sister club Strasbourg, as per a report from Wales Online.

Football.London have confirmed that negotiations over a transfer are ongoing, with a possible move to Strasbourg regarded as a concrete option for the 20-year-old midfielder.

Liverpool join Malo Gusto race

Liverpool have joined the race to sign Chelsea defender Malo Gusto, as per Simon Phillips.

The France international has been linked with a Stamford Bridge exit since the signing of Marco Palestra from Atalanta and it’s believed that an €88 (£75m) asking price has been set by the Blues.

However, Chelsea could reportedly be tempted to lower their demands if Liverpool formalise their interest.

Liam Delap to Como?

Como have registered surprise interest in Chelsea striker Liam Delap, having already signed Trevoh Chalobah this summer.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who posted on X: "Como have made initial approach for Liam Delap as new striker.

"He’s high on the shortlist for new forward as relationship with Chelsea is very good after Chalobah deal. Delap can leave Chelsea in the final two weeks."
