Chelsea set Enzo Fernandez deadline for Man City

The biggest story of the day is Chelsea's firm deadline for Manchester City to sign Enzo Fernandez.

“Today is Enzo Fernandez's day. Chelsea have been absolutely clear over the last 48 hours that this story ends today. Either Manchester City pay £120m today, or Enzo Fernandez stays at Chelsea,” Romano told his YouTube channel.

“Chelsea's position is public, clear and strong. They do not look like a club trying to force the price up because, if that were the case, they could simply keep negotiating tomorrow. As of today, their message is simple: Friday, 5pm UK time, £120m net or nothing.

“Manchester City have been in direct contact with Enzo Fernandez's representatives over the last 24 hours. There have been genuine discussions with the player's camp, so movement has happened. Now it is up to City to decide whether they want to pay the money.

“Chelsea say they have not received an official £120m bid, and they would not accept €120m. Their demand is £120m, and nothing less. The conversations with the player's side continue, so the deal is still alive. We now wait to see whether Manchester City decide to go all in.”

PSG close in on Ferran Torres and Mika Godts

Paris Saint-Germain are preparing two major attacking signings as their summer rebuild accelerates.

“Ferran Torres is now expected to fly from Spain to Paris for his medical and contract signing. Everything has been authorised, so he can complete his move from Barcelona for €50m,” Romano explained.

“After Ferran, PSG will focus fully on Mika Godts. Talks with Ajax restarted on Thursday, and PSG already have an agreement with the player on personal terms. The clubs are now getting closer on the transfer fee.

Liverpool keep pushing for Bradley Barcola

Liverpool remain fully committed to signing Bradley Barcola despite PSG's reluctance to sell.

“Liverpool are in daily contact with Paris Saint-Germain over Bradley Barcola. There is already a verbal agreement with the player on personal terms, and Barcola wants the move to Liverpool,” Romano said.

“He has never been untouchable, and Liverpool are ready to go strong for him. Even on Thursday, fresh contacts took place between the two clubs. The negotiations now depend on finding the right financial agreement, but this deal is very much alive.”

Rio Ngumoha remains untouchable at Liverpool

Liverpool have no intention of allowing one of their brightest young talents to leave.

“I want to make one thing very clear. Whatever happens with Barcola or Liverpool signing two wingers, Rio Ngumoha is untouchable,” the transfer insider added.

“Tottenham are not only working on Savinho. They want to sign two wingers, and Cody Gakpo is the other top priority,” Romano said.

“Those are the two names they are pushing for first. If one of those deals proves impossible, they have alternatives, including Pedro Neto, but Savinho and Gakpo remain the priority.

“Whether Gakpo becomes available could depend on Liverpool's pursuit of Bradley Barcola.”

Aston Villa line up Wan-Bissaka after Ruggeri deal

Villa are strengthening at full-back with one signing complete and another in progress.

“Aston Villa are ready to announce Matteo Ruggeri as their new left-back from Atletico Madrid. The deal is done, the player is already in Birmingham, his medical has been completed, and the announcement is expected on Friday,” Romano said.

“Villa also have genuine interest in Aaron Wan-Bissaka. He is a concrete target this summer, and the club are expected to hold contacts very soon. Watch this situation because there could be movement around the former Manchester United full-back.”

Italian transfer market moves gather pace

Romano explained: “Napoli have a verbal agreement with Chelsea for Benoit Badiashile. The loan fee is €3m, with a €27m buy option that is not mandatory.

“Juventus are also closing in on Colombia international Jhon Lucumi, who will join from Bologna after impressing alongside Davinson Sanchez for his national team.”

Michael Carrick expects more Manchester United signings

Man Utd manager Michael Carrick has gone public to confirm the club are still looking to strengthen.

“Michael Carrick said today that we can do something special this season, which shows the ambition inside Manchester United,” Romano said.

“On transfers, he made it clear the squad is very good and well balanced, but it can still improve. He said there are one or two positions the club are working on.

“We already know about the search for a left-back and a third midfielder, while something could also happen in attack if the right opportunity appears. I still expect Manchester United to do more business before the window closes.

“Carrick also spoke very positively about Marcus Rashford. He said Rashford arrived in a very good mood, can give the team something different and something special, and that he knows the player very well. I am told those positive messages have also been consistent in private, so Carrick is more than happy to continue with Marcus Rashford.”
