Arsenal Transfer News Today: €90m deal greenlit as Ezri Konsa decision made
All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Martin Zubimendi, Ezri Konsa and Gabriel Martinelli.
Arsenal approve Zubimendi exit
Arsenal are prepared to sell Martin Zubimendi to Chelsea, TEAMtalk claims.
The Spain international is being linked with a switch to Stamford Bridge due to the mutual appreciation with Xabi Alonso. The latter previously wanted to sign him for Real Madrid, while Zubimendi grew up idolising the legendary midfielder.
With Arsenal having just signed Bruno Guimaraes, it is asserted that they would be ready to sell Zubimendi if offered a fee of around €90m. This would represent a healthy profit on a player they signed for €70m just last year.
Villa would sanction Konsa sale
Aston Villa would reluctantly sanction the sale of Ezri Konsa if their valuation were to be met, Football Insider writes.
The Birmingham club do not want to lose the England star and would prefer to sell goalkeeper Emi Martinez instead, but they would "find it hard to turn down" offers in the region of €70m.
Konsa is a key target for Arsenal as they seek to replace the injured William Saliba. So far, however, the Gunners have failed to come close to Villa's asking price.
Galatasaray eye double raid
Galatasaray are interested in Arsenal stars Gabriel Martinelli and Ethan Nwaneri, as per Haluk Yurekli.
The Turkish journalist claims that Galatasaray have made offers for both players as they seek to bring in offensive reinforcements before the end of the window. Sky Germany reports that the club's formal bid for Martinelli has clocked in at €45m.
In addition to a wide player, Galatasaray have been trying to sign a marquee No.10 this summer. An ambitious move for Man Utd captain Bruno Fernandes has proved to be a non-starter, so they are now exploring a deal for Nwaneri.
Lewis-Skelly swap?
Arsenal legend Lee Dixon says that he would swap Myles Lewis-Skelly for Man Utd winger Marcus Rashford.
Reports claimed on Tuesday that the Arsenal homegrown had been offered to Chelsea and Man Utd following the signing of Bruno Guimaraes, although several sources, including Fabrizio Romano, have since disputed that the youngster is looking to leave.
However, Dixon believes that a trade with Man Utd could be mutually beneficial. Arsenal need a proven left-winger, while the Red Devils are in the market for a player who can fill in at left-back.
