Chelsea learn Arsenal’s ‘plan’ to sign Rogers

Arsenal have asked Declan Rice to help convince England team-mate Morgan Rogers to join them ahead of Chelsea this summer, according to the Daily Mail.

Rogers has developed a reputation as one of Europe’s best attacking midfielders after firing Aston Villa to Europa League glory last season, while also playing a key role in England qualifying for the World Cup this summer.

BBC Sport understands Arsenal are keen to sign the 23-year-old, who The Telegraph say is worth in excess of €92million (£80m), while The Athletic claims he is also on Chelsea’s wishlist.

However, the Mail understands Arsenal are now trying to steal a march on Chelsea by deploying Rice as an extra agent in England’s World Cup camp.

Blues told Enzo has yet to agree terms with Real

Real Madrid are yet to agree personal terms with Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez, according to transfers specialist Fabrizio Romano, despite contrary reports.

The La Liga giants are being strongly linked with a big-money move for the Argentina international after he revealed he “would really like to live in Madrid” in March.

Chelsea and Real have already conducted business this summer after Marc Cucurella completed a €60m (£52m) move to the Bernabeu last week, with the left-back signing a six-year contract.

However, according to Romano, Real have not reached an agreement with Fernandez or his representatives over a similar move, boosting Chelsea’s hopes of keeping the 25-year-old.

Chelsea face fresh competition for Bouaddi signature

Chelsea have suffered a blow to their hopes of signing Ayyoub Bouaddi after learning Real Madrid have joined the race for the €70million-rated (£60.6m) star, according to Spanish publication Diario AS.

The 18-year-old has caught the eye with his performances at this summer’s World Cup, delivering a metronomic midfield performance in Morocco’s 1-1 draw with Brazil on 13 June.

Such has been Bouaddi’s impressive form in the middle of the park that Chelsea are interested in signing him this summer, according to talkSPORT, who claim the teen sensation holds a valuation of between €60m and €70m (£52m and £60.6m).

However, according to Diario AS, La Liga giants Real are also monitoring developments surrounding Bouaddi, who helped Morocco beat Scotland 1-0 in their Group C clash on Friday.

Alonso’s side receive boost in Araujo pursuit

Chelsea have received a boost in their pursuit of Maximiliano Araujo after learning Sporting CP are planning for his departure this summer, according to Portuguese outlet A Bola.

The Blues are keen to back new manager Xabi Alonso in the summer transfer market, with The Athletic reporting the club are hoping to sign a new centre-back and a versatile forward.

One man who has been linked with making a move to Stamford Bridge is Uruguay left winger Araujo, who scored in his side’s 1-1 draw with Saudi Arabia in their World Cup opener on 15 June.

And now according to A Bola, Primeira Liga side Sporting are reportedly making preparations in the event that Araujo will seek a move away following the World Cup.

The same publication claims Chelsea are the “most likely” club to land Araujo, who could reportedly be available for between €60million and €70m (£52m and £60.6m) despite having a €80m (£69.3m) release clause in his contract which runs until 2029.
