Arsenal Transfer News Today: Rogers pursuit 'stepped up' as official offer submitted
FootballTransfers runs through the latest Arsenal transfer news, rumours and gossip, including updates on Morgan Rogers and Jeremy Monga.
Morgan Rogers latest
Arsenal have stepped up their bid to sign Aston Villa attacker Morgan Rogers, as per Sky Sports News.
The England superstar is one of the Gunners’ top targets for this summer and they are exploring the conditions of a transfer as they look to bolster their attacking options ahead of next season.
Villa are expected to listen to offers of around €92 million for Rogers, with Chelsea and Manchester United also interested in the 23-year-old.
Jeremy Monga bid
Arsenal have sent an official offer to Leicester City for teenage winger Jeremy Monga, according to football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano.
The England U19 international has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks and after lengthy transfer negotiations, Mikel Arteta’s side have now lodged a formal first bid.
That is according to Romano, who posted on X: “EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal sent official bid to Leicester City to get Jeremy Monga deal done. 16 year old winger keen on joining Arsenal and deal moving quickly now with optimism to sign Leicester talent, seen as huge prospect for the future.”
Monga has made 37 first-team appearances for Leicester and he is widely expected to complete a move to Arsenal before the end of the summer transfer window, with the Gunners emerging as the frontrunners for his signature amid significant competition from multiple top Premier League clubs.
Bradley Barcola update
Arsenal are preparing an opening offer for Paris Saint-Germain forward Bradley Barcola as they look to bolster Mikel Arteta’s squad ahead of the new season, according to The Independent.
It’s understood that Arteta’s side are preparing a first bid for the 23-year-old, with the club currently looking into the details of a possible deal amid significant transfer competition from Liverpool.
Barcola is regarded as a player who would immediately improve Arsenal’s starting XI and it has been widely suggested that PSG would be amenable to a sale if a suitable offer arrives for the France star, who scored for his nation during their 3-1 win over Senegal in their World Cup opener on Tuesday.
Iliman Ndiaye boost
Arsenal have been handed a major boost in their bid to sign Iliman Ndiaye after he confirmed his desire to play in the Champions League amid significant transfer speculation.
Arsenal and Chelsea are among the clubs understood to be interested in acquiring Ndiaye this summer, although he has hinted that a move to the Emirates Stadium would be far more appealing than linking up with Xabi Alonso in west London.
When asked about his future at Everton by SPORTbible, Ndiaye said: “You don't know where football will take you next. As I've always said, I want to be the best player and to do that, you have to play at the top.
“I want to be playing at the top level. I want to be playing Champions League football.”
Chelsea failed to qualify for any European competition after a 10th-place finish in the Premier League last season, and their lack of Champions League football may block a deal, allowing Arsenal to pounce.
Confirmed: Ayyoub Bouaddi wanted
Lille starlet Ayyoub Bouaddi is on Arsenal’s list of summer transfer targets, Sky Sports News have confirmed.
The 18-year-old starred for Morocco against Brazil at the World Cup last weekend, and a move to the Premier League could be on the cards this summer amid significant interest from several top English clubs.
Arsenal are among those keeping close tabs on his situation, alongside Manchester United, although his price tag will be a key factor in whether Arteta’s side engage in advanced transfer negotiations.
Newcastle interested in Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard
Newcastle United have discussed the possibility of signing Arsenal wingers Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard after missing out on Victor Munoz to Liverpool.
That is according to CaughtOffside, who report that a move for Martinelli, in particular, is under consideration, with Eddie Howe’s team keen to find out the details of a possible summer transfer.
Munoz was widely expected to join Newcastle from Osasuna this summer, but Liverpool hijacked the deal and he is now on his way to Anfield after the World Cup.
