Arsenal Transfer News Today: Romano confirms Scott plans after wonderkid speaks out over move
All the latest Arsenal transfer news in one place, including updates on Julian Alvarez, Alex Scott and Nicolo Tresoldi.
Exclusive: Arsenal deny swap deal reports
Arsenal have not held a single conversation with any club regarding a swap deal involving Viktor Gyokeres and either Morgan Rogers or Julian Alvarez, despite the news increasingly circulating.
FootballTransfers understands that suggestions that Arsenal are willing to entertain offers involving Gyokeres in exchange for Rogers or Alvarez are completely unfounded.
The rumours make little sense when viewed against the reality of Arsenal's situation. The Sweden international only arrived at the club last summer and remains a key part of Mikel Arteta's plans moving forward.
FootballTransfers sources have indicated there has been no dialogue between Arsenal and Aston Villa over a Rogers-Gyokeres exchange, while Atletico Madrid have likewise not discussed any scenario involving Alvarez moving in the opposite direction.
If Arsenal do add another No.9 in the coming months, the expectation is that the club would target a younger emerging forward capable of developing alongside the current squad rather than commit to another hugely expensive headline acquisition.
Romano gives Scott update
“Alex Scott remains on Arsenal's shortlist,” Romano confirmed on YouTube. “Arsenal appreciate the player and there are ongoing conversations with his representatives and with Bournemouth.
“Bournemouth are trying very hard to keep him and are offering a new contract with a release clause.
“But Arsenal are considering him as one of their midfield options because they believe he is a very talented player.”
Tresoldi speaks out over Arsenal links
Nicolo Tresoldi finished the season with 23 goals in all competitions for Club Brugge and the 21-year-old’s form has seen him considered for a move this summer by the Gunners.
Tresoldi insisted he was happy at Brugge and, ‘as things stand’, he would be with the club next season, although he also mentioned that ‘anything can happen in the summer’.
When asked about the interest from Arsenal by Sport Bild, Tresoldi said: “I don’t know if that’s true (laughs). But it’s nice to be linked with such clubs. It’s an honour for me, and it shows I’m on the right path. I want to keep working hard and win trophies. As for my future, I’m very relaxed.”
Gunners receive Tzolis boost
Arsenal have received a major boost in their pursuit of Club Brugge winger Christos Tzolis.
The Greece international has become a key target for the Gunners in their search for reinforcements on the left wing. Tzolis is coming off two incredibly impressive seasons in Belgium and looks poised to take the next step in his career this summer.
Arsenal are believed to be exploring a €40 million transfer for the forward, with Brugge willing to listen to offers in that ballpark. Tzolis is understood to be keen on the move.
And the Gunners have been handed a boost after learning that Brugge have already found their preferred replacement for the Tzolis. According to Sky Germany, Augsburg attacker Mert Komur is being chased by the Belgian giants.
Komur is planning to leave Augsburg this summer, and the Bundesliga side are ready to sell at the right price. Brugge have launched a "strong offensive" for the Germany youth international because he is also fielding interest from numerous other suitors.
