Arsenal submit official offer for first summer signing - Fabrizio Romano
Arsenal have sent an official offer to Leicester City for teenage winger Jeremy Monga, according to football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano.
The England U19 international has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks and after lengthy transfer negotiations, Mikel Arteta’s side have now lodged a formal first bid.
That is according to Romano, who posted on X: “EXCLUSIVE: Arsenal sent official bid to Leicester City to get Jeremy Monga deal done.
“16 year old winger keen on joining Arsenal and deal moving quickly now with optimism to sign Leicester talent, seen as huge prospect for the future.”
Monga has made 37 first-team appearances for Leicester and he is widely expected to complete a move to Arsenal before the end of the summer transfer window, with the Gunners emerging as the frontrunners for his signature amid significant competition from multiple top Premier League clubs.
The teenager is the third-youngest debutant in Premier League history, behind Arsenal duo Ethan Nwaneri and Max Dowman, and it's likely that he would be given the chance to train regularly with the Gunners' senior team if a deal is agreed with Leicester.
However, Monga isn't expected to become an immediate fixture in the Arsenal first-team, with the club still eager to sign a more experienced left winger amid rumours that Leandro Trossard or Gabriel Martinelli may be sold.
Instead, it's likely that he will either play regularly for Arsenal's U21 side in the Premier League 2 or be sent on loan for the 2026-27 season in order to gain valuable experience.
Who will Arsenal sign this summer?
While a deal for Monga is currently in progress, he certainly won't be the only player to join Arsenal this summer as the north London giants look to back Arteta in the market amid their pursuit of an elusive Champions League trophy.
Piero Hincapie is set to join on a permanent deal from Bayer Leverkusen, with a deal in place following a successful loan spell, while Arsenal are also determined to finalise the arrival of Aston Villa superstar Morgan Rogers.
The likes of Valentino Livramento, Morgan Gibbs-White, Bradley Barcola and Julian Alvarez are also on the Gunners' radar, while they have ramped up their pursuit of Lille starlet Ayyoub Bouaddi following his performance for Morocco versus Brazil in their opening game of the 2026 World Cup.
