Liverpool rival Man Utd for Fernandes
Liverpool have held a transfer meeting with the representatives of West Ham midfielder Mateus Fernandes, CaughtOffside claims.
Man Utd captain Bruno Fernandes has reportedly requested that his compatriot be signed this summer, but it is Liverpool who are believed to be leading the race for his signature at present.
The Reds are stepping up their efforts to sign the 21-year-old, who could potentially command a fee as high as €60 million. The interest in Fernandes comes amid rumours that Alexis Mac Allister could be a target for Man Utd.
Camavinga wants to stay at Real Madrid
Eduardo Camavinga is not keen to leave Real Madrid this summer, as per Sky Germany.
Sky Sports Switzerland corroborates that the France international would prefer to stay, but it adds that Real Madrid are ready to listen to bids in the region of €80m. It is also claimed that Camavinga's representatives are offering him to clubs.
The 23-year-old is one of the names associated with Man Utd as they look to revamp their midfield this summer. However, signing him will clearly not be easy.
Two midfielders to be signed
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Man Utd are planning to sign two midfielders this summer.
The transfer insider reports that Manuel Ugarte is very likely to leave the club, which means that Man Utd will not only have to sign a replacement for Casemiro but also for the Uruguay international.
Sandro Tonali and Elliot Anderson both remain high on the club's shortlist, but Romano has reiterated that Man City are pushing hard to get a deal done with the latter.
Man Utd eye Charles
Man Utd are among the clubs scouting Southampton star Shea Charles, the Daily Mail states.
The 22-year-old knocked Arsenal out of the FA Cup with his goal as a substitute at the weekend, but he has long been on the radar of Premier League clubs, including Man Utd and Everton.
The Manchester-born midfielder, who came through Man City's academy, is seen as a potentially cost-effective option for the Red Devils. Current Man Utd director Jason Wilcox signed Charles for Southampton in 2023.
Vitek drops exit hint
Man Utd goalkeeper Radek Vitek, currently on loan at Bristol City, insists that he could leave the club in search of regular game time.
"At this stage in my career, I want to play as many games as possible," he said. "I wouldn't benefit from sitting on the bench. At the moment, I'm focusing on being as strong as possible for Bristol City with eight games to play.
“I want to give my best for the club and build my platform towards next season. Then I will communicate with Man Utd closely, and we will see what's going to be best for me next season. But I want to play football. I don't want to just be somewhere sitting on the bench."
