Jules Kounde wanted

Chelsea have reportedly rekindled their interest in Barcelona defender Jules Kounde ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

The France international was heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge before joining Barca in 2022 and the Blues are keen to finally bring him to west London ahead of next season.

That is according to a report from CaughtOffside, who claim that Chelsea are ready to make an “aggressive push” to sign Kounde this summer as they look to bolster the defensive options available to Liam Rosenior next season.

Liverpool and Manchester City are also monitoring Kounde’s situation at Barcelona, but Chelsea are currently the frontrunners for the Frenchman’s signature, despite the fact he is yet to express a desire to leave Camp Nou.

Fisnik Asllani responds to speculation

Hoffenheim star Fisnik Asllani is one of several strikers on Chelsea’s radar ahead of this summer, however he was keen to downplay speculation of a summer transfer after his goal against Mainz on Sunday.

“I can only influence what happens on the pitch. I just try to keep performing and help the team, whether it’s with goals, assists, or whatever. Regardless of everything else, I give my all for the team,” he told reporters.

“And honestly, what happens off the pitch doesn’t concern me. Everyone talks and talks. As I said, I can only influence what happens on the pitch.

“It was the same last season when I was still in Elversberg (on loan). Everyone was talking: ‘What’s next? Contract next season, this, that.’ I just said: ‘Leave me alone, let me play football, let me enjoy it.’ And that’s exactly how I’m approaching this season too. In the end, we’ll see what happens.”

Rayan Cherki regret

Antoine Semenyo has described his Manchester City team-mate Rayan Cherki as “one of the world’s best” following his performance against Liverpool on Saturday afternoon.

The France international initially struggled to break into Guardiola’s preferred starting XI during the opening few months of the season, following his arrival from Olympique Lyon for a fee of €36.5 million, but he is now one of the first names on the teamsheet thanks to an immense spell of form.

Chelsea were heavily linked with Cherki before his eventual move to Man City, with the Blues close to finalising a deal back in 2023. It’s understood that Cherki was keen to join the Stamford Bridge outfit, but reports speculated that the Blues pulled out of negotiations due to fears over his attitude.

Rumours of a move to west London persisted in 2024 and 2025, however a deal was never agreed and Chelsea will undoubtedly rue that error, despite the fact that Cherki plays in Cole Palmer’s preferred No.10 position.

Bayer Leverkusen contact

Chelsea and other Premier League clubs have made "contact" with Bayer Leverkusen wonderkid Kerim Alajbegovic.

The 18-year-old was sold to RB Salzburg last summer, but Leverkusen have already decided to trigger their buy-back clause before the campaign has finished, such has been Alajbegovic's impact.

However, while Leverkusen will bring him back this summer, it is unclear if Alajbegovic will play for the Bundesliga side next season as Chelsea and Man Utd are both in "contact" over a potential summer move, according to Reprezentacija.

The Bosnian outlet claims that a transfer north of €30 million is "in the works," and that his English suitors want to complete a deal for the 18-year-old winger "as soon as possible."

Thiago Silva help

Former Chelsea defender Thiago Silva helped to convince his compatriot Estevao Willian to join the Blues, as per The i Paper.

The Brazil winger has been a revelation since his arrival at Stamford Bridge, and he has admitted that his international team-mates Joao Pedro and Andrey Santos have helped him to adapt to life in London.

“They were very important to me, for my adaptation,” Estevao admitted. "Because they already spoke English, they had already had a good time in England. The Brazilians, they always have a desire.

“It’s been really important for me to have that community of Brazilian players. They’ve allowed me to settle in quicker than I expected and they’ve been figureheads for me, almost like family members for me here in England in a new space.”
