The England international penned fresh terms until 2031 in November, but he continues to be linked with a high-profile exit and it’s claimed that he is now willing to depart Unai Emery’s side in order to join one of the Premier League’s biggest clubs.

Rogers has registered 17 goal involvements in 44 matches so far this season and he is in pole position to start for England at the upcoming World Cup, despite competition from Jude Bellingham, Cole Palmer, Phil Foden and Eberechi Eze.

Rumours have previously indicated that the 23-year-old is likely to remain at Villa for at least another season, but The Sun report that is now open to leaving the club in order to join one of the “Premier League’s biggest hitters.”

It’s understood that Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool are all long-term admirers of the England superstar, while Manchester United are also involved in the race to sign him amid their pursuit of a player capable of replacing Bruno Fernandes if he departs Old Trafford this summer.

Rogers reportedly wants to join a club that consistently challenges for major honours and Villa are aware this summer could be the perfect time to part ways with the 23-year-old, who could cost as much as €115 million (£100m).

Analysis: Would Morgan Rogers be a good signing for Chelsea?

There are still several gaping holes in Chelsea’s first-team squad and landing another Premier League proven attacker would help ease the burden on Cole Palmer for creativity.

Furthermore, with Enzo Fernandez potentially set to leave, signing Rogers would be a massive boost for Blues head coach Liam Rosenior. His versatility to play across the forward line would be a massive help to Chelsea and it would enable Palmer to rest when required, with his fitness a real concern as things stand.

A move for Rogers therefore makes perfect sense, although Chelsea may be unwilling to match Aston Villa’s asking price as they may also need to sign a new central defender and a new centre forward during the 2026 summer transfer window.
