Chelsea Transfer News Today: Fernandez fuels Real Madrid speculation with another new interview
All the latest Chelsea transfer news in one place, including updates on Enzo Fernandez, Said El Mala and Jules Kounde.
Fernandez makes Madrid ambition clear – again
Enzo Fernandez, has once again, spoken of his desire to move to Madrid in the future and admitted life with Chelsea is sometimes ‘difficult’ amid speculation surrounding his future.
Fernandez has already provoked the wrath of Chelsea and his teammates after recent comments where he fuelled talk of him pushing to join Real Madrid this summer by admitting he would love to move to the city.
Now, Fernandez told an Argentine radio show: “Again, I always tell my wife Val that if I had to choose a city to live in Europe, I would really like Madrid. It’s very similar to Buenos Aires, mostly because of the food.”
Fernandez also spoke of his initial difficulties at Chelsea, saying: “The first year and a half, honestly, I didn’t have a good time at all. It was a very big change – the language, the culture, everything.
“I didn’t speak English before. I didn’t even know numbers or colours, nothing. I learned everything there, day by day, in meetings and conversations.”
“Now I speak, I understand everything. And the truth is, it’s difficult – it’s really difficult.”
Chelsea offered Dumfries deal
Chelsea are among the teams that have been offered the chance to sign Denzel Dumfries from Inter on a cut-price deal.
Dumfries is believed to have a release clause of €25 million in his contract with Inter and, while the Italian side are actively trying to renegotiate and remove the fee, TEAMtalk report that talks are being held with other clubs over a move.
The likes of Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle have also been spoken to along with Chelsea, although the 29-year-old’s wages could prove a stumbling block.
Chelsea quoted price for El Mala
Chelsea have been told they will need to stump up €50 million if they wish to beat their rivals to signing Koln wonderkid Said El Mala.
El Mala has been a breakout star in the Bundesliga this season which has attracted interest from all over Europe, although Brighton have been pushing the hardest for the 19-year-old.
However, BILD report that Koln will only sell El Mala for €50m, which could see Brighton cool their interest as they were only willing to pay €35m plus bonuses.
The situation could give Chelsea a chance to take the lead in the race for the forward, with the Blues allegedly willing to submit a bid of €45m.
Chelsea reignite Kounde pursuit
Chelsea have reignited their interest in Barcelona defender Jules Kounde, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The France international has been repeatedly linked with the Blues since his Sevilla days. He is currently in the midst of a difficult season, having struggled for form and fitness after being one of Barcelona's most reliable performers last term.
Barcelona don't want to sell. However, given their financial situation, they would have to consider lucrative offers for the versatile defender. It is claimed that a fee in the region of €80 million could do the trick. Liverpool and Man City are also linked.
Chelsea eye €60m Brazilian wonderkid
That is according to Brazilian outlet UOL, who have revealed that Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City and Newcastle United all lodged enquiries about Conceicao after he scored four goals and provided three assists in seven games at the 2026 Copinha - Brazil’s most prestigious U20 youth football tournament.
It’s claimed that Conceicao will only be sold for a fee in excess of €60m, including add-ons, while his release clause currently stands at €100m after he signed his first professional contract in January.
