Chelsea have been offered the chance to reignite their interest in Barcelona midfielder Marc Casado, who has also been the subject of an approach from Manchester United.

The La Masia graduate is growing increasingly frustrated in Catalunya. Casado decided to stay at Barcelona last summer in the hope that he would establish himself as a regular fixture in Hansi Flick's side.

However, the opposite has happened. With Marc Bernal having returned from his long-term injury, Casado's minutes have become more limited. He has started just twice in the Champions League and nine times in LaLiga this term.

As a result, the 22-year-old is giving serious thought to a summer move, according to Sport. Casado is now represented by superagent Jorge Mendes, and the latter has been tasked with finding the two-time Spain international a new club.

The Barcelona-linked outlet points out that Casado won't struggle to find suitors. He has repeatedly fielded interest from big clubs around Europe, including from the Premier League, so securing a transfer won't prove too problematic.

Chelsea to reignite Casado interest?

Last summer, Casado rejected approaches from Chelsea and Wolves to stay at Barcelona. In January, Man Utd and Atletico Madrid enquired about the 22-year-old's availability.

The Red Devils have continued to be linked with him. Last month, a report claimed that the Old Trafford club offered Barcelona a favourable deal for Marcus Rashford on the condition that they let Casado head in the other direction.

It is now asserted that Barcelona will advise Casado to find himself a new club this summer. They are not actively pushing him out, but they realise that he will struggle for minutes going forward and, of course, his sale would represent pure profit for the cash-strapped club.

As a result, Chelsea, Man Utd and his many other admirers will be presented with a significant market opportunity this summer. Casado currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €26.3 million, making him eminently affordable.

Whether Chelsea will reignite their interest remains to be seen, though. They are on the verge of snapping up Valentin Barco from sister club Strasbourg, so they may feel that they are well-stocked in midfield.

Man Utd, meanwhile, will surely be more attentive to the situation. According to data analytics firm SciSports, the Red Devils would be a solid fit for Casado. SciSports analyses various factors such as development potential, playing style and game time prospects to calculate a Club Fit rating.

Man Utd clock in at a decent 75 out of 100. They are far from his best option, however. Fulham have a very impressive score of 86, while Inter and Juventus both come in at 84. Newcastle, Napoli and Atleti have a score of 82.
