Bayern enter Gordon race

Bayern Munich are interested in signing Newcastle winger Anthony Gordon, Sky Germany has confirmed.

FootballTransfers has exclusively reported that Arsenal are also showing a strong interest in the 25-year-old, and that the Gunners are expected to make a bid for him before the end of the season.

However, Florian Plettenberg states that they will face serious competition from the Bavarians, who have earmarked Gordon as their preferred left-wing target to provide competition for Luis Diaz.

Discussions with Gordon's camp have already been held. Newcastle don't want to sell, but they may have no choice if the player decides to push for the move. In that case, it is expected that he would cost up to €70 million.

Mosquera to leave Arsenal?

Cristhian Mosquera could leave Arsenal on loan this summer in a bid to get more regular minutes, Sportsboom claims.

The summer signing has had to make do with a backup role for William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes this season, though he has impressed when afforded opportunities to play.

Arsenal, though, are said to be keen for him to play more and could sanction a temporary exit, with clubs like Atalanta, Benfica, Bournemouth, Everton and Napoli alerted to this potential market opportunity.

Arteta sack decision

Mikel Arteta could be sacked if Arsenal fail to win the Champions League or Premier League this season, as per Mundo Deportivo.

While the report acknowledges that Arteta is currently in talks with Arsenal over a contract extension, it is added that the situation could take a "dramatic" turn if the Gunners' season ends trophyless.

Como boss Cesc Fabregas would be the preferred candidate to replace Arteta should he indeed be fired. Like Arteta, Fabregas used to play for the club, and Como's attractive football, while not compromising on defensive solidity, makes him an appealing option.
