Barcelona are interested in Newcastle left-back Lewis Hall, according to Spanish media.

It has not been an easy campaign for the Magpies, but the 21-year-old is enjoying a brilliant season on a personal level. Hall's performances have earned him a call-up to Thomas Tuchel's England squad - and they have sparked transfer speculation.

This week, it emerged that Man Utd are interested in the Newcastle star as they seek to bolster their left-back department this summer. Luke Shaw has surprisingly been the Red Devils' iron man this season, but he is 30 now and the only reliable senior left-back in the squad.

Newcastle, understandably, don't want to lose Hall, especially as they are also braced for a potential summer onslaught for Sandro Tonali and perhaps Bruno Guimaraes. Eddie Howe is desperate to keep his squad together.

Man Utd have also identified other potential left-back options. Alphonso Davies has reportedly been offered to the Old Trafford club, there is rumoured interest in Antonee Robinson and Arsenal wonderkid Myles Lewis-Skelly is a possible option as well.

Lewis-Skelly to Man Utd, Hall to Barcelona?

FootballTransfers has explained that a move for Lewis-Skelly is not as far-fetched as it seems, with Arsenal having already lost two highly-rated youngsters to Man Utd in Chido Obi and Ayden Heaven.

The signing of Lewis-Skelly could pave the way for another suitor to make a move for Hall. According to Sport, Barcelona have added the Newcastle starlet to their shortlist of left-back targets.

Barcelona are not actively looking to sell Alejandro Balde or Gerard Martin, but the pair are sought-after commodities, so contingency plans are being put in place to potentially replace them should offers come in that are too good to turn down.

Former La Masia prospect Alejandro Grimaldo, currently at Bayer Leverkusen, and Juventus star Andrea Cambiaso are the other names currently considered, alongside Hall.

Hall, of course, was excellent as Newcastle almost defeated the Blaugrana in the first leg of their Champions League tie earlier this month, pocketing none other than Lamine Yamal.

However, the report acknowledges that a move for the England international could be difficult to pull off due to the St. James' Park stance on a potential transfer of their 21-year-old starlet.
