Enzo Fernandez makes fresh Chelsea exit decision
Enzo Fernandez is reportedly ready to leave Chelsea during the 2026 summer transfer window amid interest from Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid.
The Argentina international has been an integral player for the Blues since his arrival from Benfica three years ago, however he has been heavily linked with an exit for over 12 months and he is now open to a departure.
Fernandez still has six years remaining on his current contract at Stamford Bridge, but he is now ready to leave west London, as per a bombshell report from Spanish publication Fichajes.
It’s reported that Chelsea are facing the prospect of losing the 25-year-old, despite the fact his deal isn’t due to expire until 2032. The Blues’ 5-2 defeat to PSG on Wednesday night has reportedly prompted Fernandez to consider his future at the club as the midfielder wants to regularly compete for major honours.
Chelsea won the Europa Conference League and the Club World Cup in 2025, however those are the only two trophies they have earned under the BlueCo ownership, while they haven’t won the Premier League title since the 2016-27 season.
Enzo Fernandez to leave Chelsea?
French media have confirmed that PSG remain in the hunt for Fernandez’s signature this summer, although Real Madrid are also expected to challenge for the Argentina superstar after failing to sign a replacement for Luka Modric last year.
Fernandez has reportedly been earmarked as a top target by Los Blancos and they view him as the ideal midfielder to bolster the first-team squad at the Bernabeu.
The 25-year-old has scored 12 goals and provided six assists in 43 appearances across all competitions for Chelsea so far this season and despite his current contractual situation, Fichajes report that Liam Rosenior’s side will need to present a “highly ambitious sporting plan” in order to retain the midfielder.
