Is banned Chelsea star Mykhailo Mudryk training with a non-league club?
Chelsea winger Mykhailo Mudryk has sparked speculation that he is training with non-league side Uxbridge FC.
The Ukraine international remains provisionally suspended by the FA after allegedly testing positive for a banned substance in late 2024. Mudryk has not played a competitive game of football in over a year and has only made a handful of public appearances.
His fate remains shrouded in uncertainty. No firm ruling on whether he will actually be banned - which could sideline him for four years - has as yet been made. The 25-year-old, a €70 million signing with a Chelsea contract until 2031, is in limbo.
Mudryk was present during Chelsea's Conference League win last season, picking up a winner's medal in Wroclaw after featuring in the competition earlier in the season. He has also contributed to a movie about the war in Ukraine.
Beyond that, Mudryk has mostly kept to himself, although he has struggled to stay out of the headlines. He has received a 12-month driving ban and, more bizarrely, was also briefly suspended from a Counter-Strike 2 lobby after boasting about the massacring of Poles by Ukrainian nationalists in World War II.
Mudryk isn't training with Uxbridge
Since his provisional suspension by the FA, Mudryk has been forced to train individually as he is not allowed to interact with Chelsea in any sporting capacity and is trying to keep himself as fit as possible.
The winger has now sparked a bit of speculation that he could be training with non-league side Uxbridge FC after posting footage of himself doing some drills at the club's Honeycroft ground.
However, according to Ben Jacobs, Mudryk is not in any way affiliated with the club, which is located not far from his home in Fulham. He has simply rented their ground to train.
Uxbridge, though they own the facilities, want to be "a positive influence and location for all in the local community" and are groundsharing with other clubs and athletes.
"Understand Mykhailo Mudryk is not training with Uxbridge FC," Jacobs reports. "He has simply rented their 3G surface, separate from both the non-league club and Chelsea. This has been booked via Mudryk’s own team. Nothing has been organised by Chelsea or could be under the terms of his ban."
