Chelsea Transfer News Today: Four Deadline Day deals AGREED as striker bombshell drops
FootballTransfers runs through all the latest Chelsea transfer news on Deadline Day, including updates on Tyrique George, Axel Disasi, Ato Ampah, David Datro Fofana and Joaquin Panichelli.
Tyrique George agreement
Everton have reached a full agreement to sign Chelsea winger Tyrique George on an initial loan deal with an option-to-buy clause included.
The England U21 international has been given permission to undergo a medical with David Moyes’ side and the transfer is expected to be finalised today.
Axel Disasi medical
West Ham United have scheduled a medical for Axel Disasi as they edge closer to signing the Chelsea defender on loan after agreeing a deal with the Blues.
A full agreement with the Frenchman hasn't yet been reached, but there is growing optimism that a deal will be agreed.
Ato Ampah to join Stoke
Chelsea have reached a full agreement to sell academy winger Ato Ampah to Championship side Stoke City, as per Fabrizio Romano.
The 19-year-old signed a new contract at Chelsea in July, however he is now on the verge of leaving Stamford Bridge on a permanent deal before the end of Transfer Deadline Day.
That is according to Romano, who posted on X: “Stoke City agree deal to sign Ato Ampah from Chelsea on [a] permanent move.
“Stoke [have] booked [a] medical today as Ampah will join soon with Chelsea keeping [a] heavy sell-on clause. Transfer fee can be up to £3m package.”
David Datro Fofana to Strasbourg
Chelsea have reached a full agreement to send David Datro Fofana on loan to sister club RC Strasbourg for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
The Ivory Coast striker, who hasn’t played for his country since November 2022, was recalled by the Blues in early January following a promising temporary stint at Turkish side Fatih Karagumruk SK and they were eager to offload him on a permanent deal before the end of Transfer Deadline Day.
However, a deal has now been agreed for him to join Strasbourg on loan following the recent injury setback suffered by Emmanuel Emegha, according to football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano, who posted on Fabrizio Romano.
Exclusive: Joaquin Panichelli competition
Manchester City are studying the possibility of completing a third major signing of the transfer window, with Strasbourg's Joaquin Panichelli eyed as a late addition to the squad to support Erling Haaland.
Guardiola has concerns about City’s lack of attacking threat and the sudden dip in Haaland’s form. He believes that competition is required in the No.9 role if his side are to compete for trophies in the final three months of the season.
Panichelli has been one of the most impressive strikers in Ligue 1 this season, scoring 13 goals in 28 appearances for Strasbourg, and he has been heavily linked with a move to Chelsea in recent months.
Josh Acheampong decision
Chelsea have reportedly turned down a loan offer for Josh Acheampong from Crystal Palace, despite the imminent return of Mamadou Sarr from Strasbourg.
The Blues academy graduate has been heavily linked with a Stamford Bridge exit in recent months and speculation over a departure has ramped up amid his lack of first-team action over the past few weeks.
However, Chelsea have “rebuffed” a loan approach from Oliver Glasner’s side as they have no intention of allowing Acheampong to depart before the end of Deadline Day, as per The Guardian’s Jacob Steinberg.
Wonderkid departs
Chelsea have officially confirmed the departure of academy star Yahya Idrissi to AC Milan on a permanent deal.
The versatile attacker joined Chelsea from West Ham United’s academy at the age of 11 and he signed his first professional contract with the Blues last year.
However, he hasn’t featured in a single matchday squad for Chelsea’s U18 side since the opening game of the 2025-26 season, and he has now completed a permanent move to Serie A giants Milan.
