Anderson is expected to start alongside Declan Rice for England at the upcoming World Cup and Arsenal are keen to unite the pair at club level ahead of next season, according to a sensational report from Spanish publication Fichajes.

The Gunners have reportedly set their sights on completing a deal for the 23-year-old, although a transfer will be difficult to finalise as both Manchester City and Manchester United are also determined to secure his signature.

The former are understood to be preparing an initial offer that matches Nottingham Forest's €115 million asking price, while the latter have identified Anderson as their dream target for 2026 amid their pursuit of a new midfielder to replace Casemiro.

It had been expected that both Manchester clubs would go head-to-head for the signing of Anderson, however Arsenal have now joined the race for his signature and the Gunners are reportedly ready to test Nottingham Forest’s resolve this summer.

Arsenal prepare for busy summer transfer window

While Arsenal have reportedly expressed their interest in finalising a deal for Anderson ahead of the 2026-27 campaign, FootballTransfers understands that Newcastle United midfielder Sandro Tonali has also been earmarked as a priority target.

The Italy star has been tipped to depart St James’ Park after a successful three-year stint with Eddie Howe’s side and Arsenal are among the clubs keeping close tabs on his situation, alongside Man Utd and several teams in Serie A.

Arsenal are also eager to bolster their options in defence and attack, with Valentino Livramento (Newcastle) a target for the right-back position and both Rafael Leao (AC Milan) and Francesco Pio Esposito (Inter Milan) identified as potential forward signings.
