€14m star 'excited' to join Rangers with 'Hungarian Arjen Robben' also eyed
Rangers are stepping up their pursuit of Wolfsburg winger Andreas Skov Olsen and DAC Dunajska Streda talent Damir Redzic.
The Ibrox outfit have already confirmed the signing of Denmark youth international Tochi Chukwuani in a €4.6 million deal as Andrew Cavenagh and the 49ers seek to back head coach Danny Rohl.
The German has inherited a squad built for Russell Martin and is trying to shift several players, while bringing in stars more suited to his approach. Adding at least one high-profile winger is a clear priority for Rohl this month.
On Monday, it was revealed that Rangers have started showing an interest in unhappy Wolfsburg star Andreas Skov Olsen, who only joined the club for €14m last January. The Dane is frustrated with his lack of minutes and was omitted from the 8-1 thrashing by Bayern on Sunday.
The fallout from this shocking result has been massive at Wolfsburg, who have drawn up emergency transfer plans to prevent getting sucked into a relegation battle. Several deals are being explored now, so the potential sale of Skov Olsen could free up some funds.
Rangers also target Redzic
According to Sky Germany, the 26-year-old is "excited" by Rohl's project and would be open to heading to Ibrox this month. However, it is acknowledged that this deal is proving to be a difficult undertaking and that it is unclear if Rangers will be able to pull it off.
Meanwhile, TEAMtalk has confirmed that the Gers are also interested in DAC winger Damir Redzic. However, this is a similarly tricky transfer operation as the 22-year-old has plenty of suitors.
The Hungary international, who has been compared to Arjen Robben, is expected to cost around €4m if he is to leave the Slovak club this month. Rangers, though, have fallen behind other admirers in the race to sign him.
Redzic is currently scoring a goal every other game, which has put him on the radar of clubs like Salzburg, Copenhagen and Olympiacos, as well as unnamed suitors from England, Italy and Major League Soccer.
This is why Rangers are pushing hard to get a deal for Skov Olsen over the line.
