Jean-Philippe Mateta deal unlocked

Manchester United could make a surprise late move in the transfer window for Crystal Palace striker Jean-Philippe Mateta, with everything falling into place to allow a move.

The London side have reached an agreement with Aston Villa over a deal that will see Evann Guessand join on loan, while they are also close to securing a deal for Jorgen Strand Larsen.

With both Guessand and Strand Larsen set to join Palace in the days ahead, the door has been opened for Mateta to get his desired move away from the club and Man Utd are known admirers of the Frenchman.

Mohamed Kader Meite agreement

Al-Hilal have reached a full agreement to sign Man Utd striker target Mohamed Kader Meite, who has been heavily linked with an Old Trafford switch in recent days.

Football transfer news expert Fanrizio Romano confirmed the deal by posting on X: “Kader Meite to Al Hilal, here we go! Agreement in place with Rennes and also player side right now.

“Fee around €30m, 18 year old talent picks Al Hilal and Simone Inzaghi’s project seen as ideal step despite approaches from Premier League clubs. Meite set for medical next.”

Yan Diomande blow

Man Utd have been dealt a major blow in their bid to sign RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande this summer.

The Ivorian has been identified as a top target by the Red Devils hierarchy, but Real Madrid have also now registered their interest in completing a move, with head scout Juni Calafat identifying him as a suitable target if Vinicius Jr or Rodrygo opt to leave the Bernabeu this summer.

That is according to Spanish publication Defensa Central, who claim that Los Blancos will continue to monitor Diomande’s development for the remainder of the 2025-26 season ahead of a potential pursuit later this year.

Tyrique George to Man Utd?

Manchester United could reportedly pursue a shock move for Chelsea outcast Tyrique George, who is expected to leave Stamford Bridge before the end of the winter transfer window.

The England U21 international has made 11 senior appearances for the Blues so far this season, however he has only been included in one Premier League matchday squad since 25 October and the club are eager to sanction a permanent sale over the next few days.

Man Utd have now emerged as a possible destination for the 19-year-old, according to The Daily Mail.

Michael Carrick’s side are in the market for a new forward and INEOS’ preference of signing Premier League proven preference has opened the door for a move for George. The Red Devils are also reportedly keeping tabs on AC Milan star Rafael Leao, who is available for the right price, and Everton’s Illiman Ndiaye.

Carlos Baleba boost

Manchester United have been heartened in their pursuit of Carlos Baleba by the news that Brighton are ready to budge from their hefty asking price.

Man Utd have retained their interest in the Cameroon star, making him one of their three top targets for the midfield. Intriguingly, the Daily Mail claims that the Red Devils have been handed a big boost by Brighton.

It is asserted that the South Coast club are no longer demanding a fee in excess of €100 million and that they are instead willing to accept a more reasonable price for Baleba. The report suggests that a sum of around €85m could be enough.
