Man Utd target Meite as Dorgu replacement

Manchester United have responded to Partick Dorgu’s injury by approaching the entourage of Rennes attacker Mohamed Kader Meite.

The French club have already turned down a €40 million approach for the No.9 from Al-Hilal, while reports suggest that Man Utd may only be willing to offer €30m.

United are not convinced that they want to sign a centre-forward and are set to consider adding a winger as a more direct replacement for Dorgu, who is expected to miss 12 weeks with a hamstring injury after finding the best form of his Man Utd career.

Jeremy Jacquet picks between Chelsea and Liverpool

Jeremy Jacquet continues to prioritise a transfer to Chelsea, with talks ongoing, despite a fear that the deal had stalled.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich are also monitoring the young Frenchman, who has had a €65-70 million asking price placed on his head by the Ligue 1 club.

Reports from France indicate that there is a trend that Jacquet will remain at Rennes until the end of the season, with only an enormous bid likely to prompt a late deal.

Dembele has yet to agree a new contract with the Champions League winners, and has been warned that he will not be given special treatment by Luis Enrique’s side.
