TRANSFER RUMOURS: Arsenal chase 'next Mbappe' as mega offer prepared
The January transfer window will officially open in less than one month’s time and the rumour mill is now in full swing ahead of the New Year.
Below, FootballTransfers runs through the biggest rumours and gossip from 7 December, including the latest updates on Bradley Barcola and Estevao.
Arsenal chase Bradley Barcola
Arsenal have made a “strong move” to sign Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola, as per French outlet Le10 Sport.
It is claimed that Mikel Arteta’s side are keen to entice the Frenchman to complete an Emirates Stadium switch in 2026, although Liverpool are also a “very active candidate” in the race to sign the 23-year-old.
Meanwhile, PSG are eager to tie him down to a new contract at the Parc des Princes.
Estevao offer
Manchester City are preparing a €120 million offer for Chelsea superstar Estevao Willian, according to a blockbuster report in Spain.
That is according to a report from Spanish publication Fichajes, who claim that Man City boss Pep Guardiola is a keen admirer of the 18-year-old.
However, despite Man City’s interest in Estevao, a deal remains incredibly unlikely due to his current contract situation at Chelsea. The Brazilian’s deal at Stamford Bridge runs until 2033 and the Blues have no intention of allowing the winger to depart.
Kobbie Mainoo to leave Man Utd?
Manchester United could officially sanction a loan sale for Kobbie Mainoo in the next few days.
Fabrizio Romano reports that Man Utd's 1-1 draw with West Ham, in which Mainoo did not play a single minute, could represent the final straw for the English midfielder.
It’s understood that Man Utd officials will sit down with Mainoo in the next few days to discuss what happens in January, with a loan departure on the cards.
Real Madrid join Kenan Yildiz race
Real Madrid are prepared to sell one of two superstars in order to sign Juventus wonderkid Kenan Yildiz next year.
Transfer expert Nicolo Schira has revealed that Real Madrid manager Xabi Alonso is crazy about the €100 million-valued attacker and was even keen to sign the Turkey international two years ago when he was in charge at Bayer Leverkusen.
Now he is ready to move for Yildiz again and he is prepared to sell either Vinicius Jr or Rodrygo to fund a deal.
Chelsea eye Valentino Barco deal
Chelsea have identified Strasbourg midfielder Valentin Barco as a possible transfer target, but they are set to face major competition for his signature next year.
The Argentina international has enjoyed an immense start to the 2025-26 campaign and his form under Liam Rosenior has alerted a number of top European clubs ahead of the upcoming January window.
That is according to CaughtOffside, who claim that Chelsea have earmarked him as a possible signing for next summer. However, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich are also interested in finalising a deal for Barco and it’s understood that a bidding war could take place as Strasbourg look to maximise the potential transfer fee they could earn via a sale.
