Man Utd eye stunning €70m signing: Transfer is '100%' confirmed
Manchester United are among the clubs interested in Eintracht Frankfurt defender Nathaniel Brown, who will '100 per cent' move in the summer, according to German media.
The 22-year-old has been one of the breakout stars in German football in recent seasons. Having initially impressed at second-tier Nurnberg, Brown linked up with Eintracht Frankfurt in 2024 and has gone from strength to strength.
An attack-minded left-back, Brown has racked up 10 assists and four goals in 51 appearances for the Eagles, which has to date earned him two caps with the German national team after opting for the country of his birth over his father's nation, the US.
Although Frankfurt's results have left a lot to be desired this season, Brown's performances are not going unnoticed. According to Sky Germany, Europe's biggest clubs are keeping tabs on the youngster.
Real Madrid, Barcelona and Man Utd are all explicitly named as being interested in Brown. Intriguingly, the report claims that Frankfurt are already '100 per cent' convinced that the 22-year-old will leave in the summer.
Is Brown the solution to Amorim's problems?
Knowing how Frankfurt, and particularly their sporting director Markus Krosche operate, it will not be cheap to sign the full-back. Indeed, the publication claims that Brown's current price tag stands at up to €70 million.
This perhaps casts doubt on the ability of the above-mentioned clubs to sign the German. Real Madrid spent €50 million to re-sign Alvaro Carreras in the summer, Barcelona still struggle to register players, and Man Utd's main priority is rebuilding their midfield.
It is nevertheless interesting that Man Utd are being linked with Brown, given that Ruben Amorim said last week that he needs a difference-maker in that left wing-back role in his system.
Although Amorim believes that the player in question should be a right-footer to mirror the left-footed Amad Diallo on the opposite side, Brown is ideally suited to a wing-back role and has shown that he can be decisive going forward.
