The England U19 international joined Sheffield Wednesday on loan on Transfer Deadline Day and he has racked up 14 appearances for the club since his arrival, playing the entire 90 minutes in each of their last 13 Championship games.

The four-time English top flight champions are currently rock bottom of the Championship table with a tally of -10 points after being hit with two separate points deductions after going into administration.

However, the exit of former owner Deijphon Chansiri has provided renewed optimism for Sheffield Wednesday fans and Amass has been one of the bright sparks of their campaign.

The 19-year-old’s loan deal includes a January break clause, meaning Man Utd are able to cut his temporary spell short if they wish, but Pedersen has urged the Red Devils to allow Amass to finish the season at Hillsborough.

Man Utd receive Harry Amass transfer message

When asked about Man Utd’s thoughts on Amass’ performances since his arrival, Pedersen told The Sheffield Star: “I know they are very happy, and, of course, they have to be very happy.

“He is in a team that has a lot of trust in him and who work very, very seriously with him as a part of the team, but also individually.

“He also has a group of fantastic mirrors in our team [in the form] of the senior players, where he can learn a lot.

“He is in a good group where he has a big respect around him, and we have big respect for Man Utd giving us the possibility [to sign him] and I am sure they have big respect for how we have worked with him.

“I hope we can continue [to work with him] after January. Of course, he fits well in our way of playing, he is developing well and I cannot see any reason not to do it.”
