Chelsea make Victor Osimhen transfer U-TURN
Chelsea have reportedly rekindled their interest in Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen after opting against finalising a deal this summer.
Osimhen, 26, has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge for several years and a transfer was close to being arranged following his banishment at Napoli in 2024, but an agreement on personal terms couldn't be reached.
The Nigeria superstar subsequently completed a season-long loan move to Galatasaray and he scored 37 goals in 41 appearances for the Turkish giants during the 2024-25 campaign.
Chelsea re-emerged as strong contenders for Osimhen’s signature following his return to Napoli this summer, however they were once again unwilling to match his annual wage demands of €15 million and the proposed transfer fell through.
Galatasaray, on the other hand, opted to make Osimhen their most expensive signing in history after agreeing to pay a €75m transfer fee.
Victor Osimhen to leave Galatasaray in 2026?
Since his permanent move to Okan Buruk’s side, Osimhen has continued his excellent goalscoring form and he has already netted on nine occasions in 12 matches so far this season, including six in the Champions League.
His form has caught the attention of several elite European clubs, with Barcelona, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United and Paris Saint-Germain all eager to sign the 26-year-old next summer.
That is according to Turkish publication Fanatik, who state that Barcelona and Liverpool are currently leading the charge for his signature, despite the fact the former have well-documented financial issues and the latter signed both Alexander Isak and Hugo Ekitike this summer.
It’s also reported that clubs in Saudi Arabia will renew their interest in Osimhen next year, with the Galatasaray star set to receive contract proposals that exceed €43m per annum.
Chelsea will boast a centre forward roster of Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, Marc Guiu, Emanuel Emegha, Dastan Satpaev, Shumaira Mheuka and potentially Nicolas Jackson next summer, however Osimhen has been on their radar for years and it appears as though the Blues may once again target a deal in 2026.
