Real Madrid eye STUNNING €250m record transfer raid on Arsenal's BEST player
Real Madrid are reportedly plotting a stunning €250 million raid that could see them target one of Arsenal’s most important stars in a record-breaking deal.
Los Blancos have won ten of their 11 matches in La Liga this season but president Florentino Perez is allegedly looking to ensure the club continues to dominate the transfer market by investing in more elite talent.
That is according to fichajes, who claim that Madrid are keen on signing Declan Rice as an ‘ideal’ option to bring ‘balance and physicality’ to the midfield, as well as fitting ‘perfectly’ with Xabi Alonso’s fluid tactical philosophy.
It is alleged that Madrid would be willing to offer up to €150m for Rice in a January transfer that would allow the Spanish giants to compete on all fronts this season.
Madrid’s board are also said to have approved a €100m approach for Bradley Barcola as an ‘era-defining’ signing to replace Rodrygo, should the Brazilian be sold.
Neither Arsenal nor Paris Saint-Germain have any intention of selling their best players but Madrid are aiming to give both teams offers that could be difficult to ignore as they look to make a ‘historic investment’ into strengthening the team for the ‘present and future.’
’Super consistent’ Rice becoming Arteta’s dream player at Arsenal
Rice is arguably having his best campaign for Arsenal since joining the club from West Ham for €116m in 2023, having already provided two goals and two assists in 11 Premier League matches this season.
No Premier League player has created more chances across all competitions this season than Rice, with the large amount of his plays coming from set pieces, which Mikel Arteta’s side have continued to dominate with.
Arteta spoke this week of Rice’s ‘evolvement’ as a player this season, having previously encouraged the 26-year-old to become a more complete player by contributing to all phases of play.
“He’s been super consistent and playing at such a high level. Now we see him impacting the games in various ways, in different areas of the pitch, in different phases of the game, and this is exactly what we want,” Arteta said.
“I think his role is growing at the club, in the team, naturally as well in a really organic way, and he needs to maintain that because he’s been exceptional.”
