Liverpool open talks to sign Everton fan favourite in stunning deal
Liverpool and other suitors have enquired about Everton attacker Iliman Ndiaye, according to a sensational report.
The Senegal international has become a fan favourite at Everton, courtesy of his exciting performances since joining the club in a €18 million deal from Mareille last year.
All told, Ndiaye has scored 15 goals in 52 appearances for the Toffees, with four of his strikes coming this season. The versatile attacker has formed a hugely promising partnership with Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Naturally, the 25-year-old's exploits haven't gone unnoticed, and Foot Mercato claims that even local rivals Liverpool are enamoured of the Everton star. In fact, the Reds are said to have already enquired about Ndiaye's availability.
Additionally, the likes of Man City and Tottenham are credited with an interest in the forward. However, Everton appear under no pressure to sell as Ndiaye is still tied to the club until 2029.
Liverpool move for Semenyo more likely
Moving between Everton and Liverpool would be hugely controversial, and it seems highly unlikely that anything will come of the Reds' supposed interest in their rivals' star attacker.
However, Liverpool are in the market for attacking reinforcements - despite a record spend in the summer - and are looking at versatile attackers. A move for Bournemouth star Antoine Semenyo looks much more realistic than one for Ndiaye.
The Ghana international has a €74 million release clause in January, and it is widely believed that Liverpool will be involved in the race to sign him in some capacity. Whether they will actually bid remains to be seen, but they are certainly admirers of the 25-year-old.
Patience could be a virtue with Semenyo, though, as the price of his release clause will drop in the summer. Nevertheless, given Liverpool's dire form at present, they may just become desperate enough to move in the winter.
