Bouaddi has already racked up 67 first-team appearances for Lille and CaughtOffside report that Man Utd director of recruitment Christopher Vivell is a huge admirer of the teenage starlet.

The Red Devils have reportedly scouted the France U21 international “extensively” over the past few months and they have now formally joined the race to acquire his signature, with several other Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, also watching him on a regular basis.

Ruben Amorim’s side opted against signing a new central midfielder over the summer, after being priced out of a move for Brighton & Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba, but they are eager to dip into the market in January to bolster their options in the middle of the park.

Bouaddi has emerged as a possible mid-season signing and Lille could feasibly be tempted into a sale due to the fact his current contract with the Ligue 1 outfit is due to expire in 2027.

Man Utd receive Elliot Anderson transfer message

Man Utd’s interest in Bouaddi comes after reports suggest they may be forced to pay as much as €137 million to sign top target Elliot Anderson next year.

The England international has established himself as one of the Premier League’s most talented midfielders since his move to Nottingham Forest last summer, and his development is being tracked by every top club in the country.

Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United have all been linked with the 22-year-old in recent weeks, however it’s understood that Man Utd hold the most significant interest in his signature.

The Red Devils have earmarked Anderson as one of their priority midfield targets, alongside both Adam Wharton and the aforementioned Baleba, although Nottingham Forest are reluctant to lose their most prized asset and will demand a substantial transfer fee in order to sanction a sale.
