It has been widely reported that Yildiz will cost a minimum of €100 million next summer, although the 20-year-old is currently expected to snub interest from the Premier League in order to sign a new long-term contract at Juventus.

His current deal isn’t due to expire until 2029, but rumours in Italy suggest that he wants to sign fresh terms with the Serie A giants.

Yildiz has registered six goal contributions in nine matches across all competitions so far this season and he is viewed as a top attacking target by Arsenal, Chelsea and Man Utd, as per reports. In fact, it has been rumoured that all three clubs would be open to matching Juventus’ asking price of €100m.

However, it appears as though Yildiz wants to stay at Juventus.

What has Kenan Yildiz said?

Speaking to UEFA ahead of Juventus’ heavyweight Champions League clash against Real Madrid on Wednesday, Yildiz hinted that he remains committed to the Juventus project.

When asked about the pressure of wearing the famous No.10 shirt number at Juventus, the Turkey international said: “At first, I thought: ‘Oh my God, will I be able to do it with number 10?’

“But after that, I didn't give it much thought. I simply wanted that number, to shine and have fun. And to be honest, the number doesn't play a role, I play it. So I always want to give it my all and show what I'm capable of. I hope it's gone well so far and I want to continue like this.”

Yildiz has consistently been compared to Juventus legend Alessandro Del Piero over the past 12 months, although he is eager to forge his own path with the Turin side.

“It's a fantastic feeling [to be compared with Del Piero],” he added. “The number 10 shirt is every kid's dream, and now I wear it on my back, at a club like this. I always say I don't like comparisons between me and him, because he's a legend; he's finished his career, while I'm just starting out.

“I want to build my own story. But yes, he's one of those I've always admired, and now I'm proud to be able to wear his shirt at this club.”
