Manchester United will sack Ruben Amorim during the October international break unless results improve, according to a report.

The Portuguese is under intense pressure and scrutiny after a dire start to the season. Man Utd have only won one of their four Premier League games so far and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by fourth-tier Grimsby in embarrassing fashion.

Despite spending €250 million on new recruits this summer, Man Utd still look completely disjointed and incapable of adequately carrying out Amorim's instructions.

For now, Amorim retains the backing of co-owners INEOS, but the writing is seemingly on the wall. According to the enigmatic 'transfer insider' account Indykaila on X, plans are being put in place to relieve the 40-year-old of his duties next month.

Unless results improve drastically in the next few games, Amorim will be given the boot during the October international break, which starts after Man Utd play at home to Sunderland on 4 October.

Amorim to be 'sacked in October'

Man Utd sacked Erik ten Hag in late October last year, and Amorim could now face a similar fate, the report claims. It is asserted that there are 'documents' that 'outline the next steps' the club hierarchy is planning to take should they feel the need to get rid of the head coach.

Man Utd's next fixtures see them square up with Chelsea at Old Trafford and Brentford away before the aforementioned clash with Sunderland ahead of the international break.

Should things go terribly awry in these games, Amorim could be sacked even before the break starts. It is also added that 'certain senior players' are already expecting the Amorim experiment to end shortly, which is causing 'tension' in the dressing room.

Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner and Bournemouth tactician Andoni Iraola are said to be on Man Utd's shortlist of potential replacements for their under-fire head coach.
