Man Utd to submit €65m January offer for Amorim's dream signing
Manchester United are reportedly preparing a €65 million bid for Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson as they look to land the 22-year-old in January.
Anderson has established himself as one of the Premier League’s best midfielders since arriving at the City Ground in 2024 and he is now firmly on Man Utd’s radar amid their pursuit of significant first-team reinforcements.
The Red Devils failed to finalise a deal for Brighton & Hove Albion star Carlos Baleba over the summer, while a concrete move for fellow targets Morten Hjulmand, Lucien Agoume or Adam Wharton never materialised.
However, Man Utd are still eager to sign a new central midfielder to replace Casemiro and they have identified Anderson as a primary candidate, as per multiple reports.
The 22-year-old is a leading contender to start for England alongside Declan Rice at the 2026 World Cup and Man Utd have earmarked him as one of their priority transfer targets for the January window as they look to bolster the squad available to Ruben Amorim.
In fact, Spanish outlet Fichajes claim that Man Utd are already preparing a €65m offer that they plan to submit in January.
Elliot Anderson to join Man Utd?
Anderson is seen as the perfect player to improve Man Utd’s current set of midfield options, and the Red Devils are hoping to finalise a deal during the winter transfer window in order to help their push to qualify for European football.
Despite this, Anderson still has four years remaining on his current Nottingham Forest contract, and while his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) stands at €51.6m, Man Utd may be required to increase their offer towards the €100m mark given the England star’s status at the City Ground.
The aforementioned Baleba remains on Man Utd’s transfer radar too, however Brighton are likely to demand a fee in excess of €115m next summer and the Red Devils may instead opt to prioritise a deal for Anderson if Nottingham Forest are willing to accept a lower fee.
