Man Utd consider €65m superstar to replace flop Sesko
Manchester United are one of the Premier League clubs considering exercising Harry Kane's release clause next year.
That is according to The Sun, who report that Kane could return to his homeland next summer.
Kane has been a huge success in Germany since arriving there from Tottenham in the summer of 2023, scoring almost 100 goals and winning the first trophy of his career as Bayern won the Bundesliga last season.
But The Sun believe he could be ready to move back to England at the end of this season.
Kane to Premier League
Kane has a €65 million release clause in his Bayern contract and Man Utd, together with the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea, are considering activating it.
United, in particular, are interested as they are already considering the possibility of replacing Benjamin Sesko.
Sesko has now gone eight games without scoring at the start of the season.
There were big hopes for the Slovenian when Man Utd splashed out as much as €85 million to sign the striker from RB Leipzig.
United had been in the market for a long time for a top-class number nine and believed they had finally captured a star for the present and future.
However, based on his start to life at Old Trafford, there are already concerns over whether Sesko could turn out to be the latest Manchester United transfer disappointment.
Sesko has played six games for Man Utd in 2025-26 and two matches for Slovenia, and has failed to score a single goal.
On Sunday, he was taken off at half time against Chelsea after another poor performance.
His performance in the EFL Cup defeat to fourth division Grimsby was particularly worrying.
Sesko played the entire game and was dominated by defenders from the bottom tier of English football.
Sesko did manage an assist for Slovenia in their 2-2 World Cup qualifying draw against Sweden a fortnight ago but that is his only goal contribution of any kind this season.
