Man City to complete ANOTHER transfer TODAY
Ilkay Gundogan will officially become a Galatasaray player within the next 24 hours, Fabrizio Romano has confirmed.
Romano reports on Tuesday morning that City have authorised for Gundogan to fly out to Istanbul today.
He will undergo his medical and if all goes to plan he will sign his contract until 2027 within the next 24 hours.
The transfer will then officially be confirmed on either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Gundogan to Galatasaray
Man City and Galatasaray have agreed a deal for an undisclosed fee for the 34-year-old.
It is understood Gundogan has accepted a contract worth around €5 million per year.
City have been having something of a firesale of their old guard this summer. Kevin de Bruyne departed the club at the start of the summer, while Ederson and Manuel Akanji also followed on Deadline Day.
The Turkish transfer window does not close until September 12, allowing Gundogan to move after the Premier League window shut on Monday.
Gundogan has a year remaining on his Man City contract, having surprisingly returned to the club in summer 2024 after terminating his deal with Barcelona to help the club out of their financial mire.
Earlier this window, Galatasaray were also locked in lengthy talks with Man City over Ederson, but despite an agreement with the goalkeeper, they failed to find common ground with their English counterparts.
The Brazilian goalkeeper instead joined hated rivals Fenerbahce. However, the signing of Gundogan would more than make up for missing out on Ederson.
