The 17-year-old, who moved to Anfield from Chelsea’s academy last summer, has enjoyed a meteoric rise over the past few months and he is set to be rewarded with a bumper new deal in the coming weeks.

Ngumoha became Liverpool’s youngest-ever Premier League goalscorer when he netted a last-minute winner against Newcastle United in late August and he has already racked up three first-team appearances so far this campaign.

The teenager currently earns an academy wage of £300-per-week, as per TBR Football, however this is expected to increase dramatically when he officially puts pen to paper on his first professional contract soon.

Rio Ngumoha to earn major pay rise at Liverpool

Ngumoha is reportedly set to see his wage increase by roughly 7,000% due to a number of lucrative bonus clauses, according to a bombshell report from football finance writer Adam Williams.

He told TBR Football: “Ngumoha has a lot going for him in terms of his value besides his obvious talent. He’s young, he’s homegrown, and he’s about to sign his first professional contract.

“Liverpool are said to cap first-year professional salaries at £52,000-a-year, but that will be quite significantly topped up by performance-related bonuses. I’d be stunned if he ends up on anything less than £1m per year, and there will be big step-ups year-on-year, plus provisions for image rights and so on.

“That’s a conservative estimate too. Otherwise, you would simply lose him to a club who are more flexible in terms of what they can offer. So, the headline wages are almost certainly going to be a bit of a red herring. The very fact they have managed to poach him from Chelsea, who pay very high wages themselves, tells you all you need to know on that front.”

Ngumoha is likely to be one of the lowest earners in Liverpool’s senior squad when he signs his first professional contract, however the talented teenager will still boast an extremely high salary to go along with his burgeoning reputation in the game.

Real Madrid are said to be keeping tabs on his development and Liverpool will hope that his recent first-team exposure, and his lofty new salary, will be enough to convince him to stay at Anfield.
