RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko has agreed personal terms with both Manchester United and Newcastle as he continues to mull over his final decision.

One of the most explosive sagas of the summer could be concluded at any moment. Man Utd and Newcastle have now both presented formal bids for Sesko, and they await the Slovenia international's decision.

Newcastle can offer Champions League football and a bigger financial package. The Magpies have made a whopping €90 million bid to Leipzig and have told Sesko that they are ready to pay whatever it takes to get his green light.

Man Utd, meanwhile, are operating on a more limited budget. They have bid €85m and need to offload players. However, the allure of joining the Red Devils and being part of what they hope will be a new, successful era under Ruben Amorim is strong.

Leipzig have not formally accepted either of the two offers. They are playing their cards close to their chest amid this ongoing bidding war. However, it is thought that reaching an agreement with the Bundesliga side will not be an issue.

Sesko agrees terms - with both

As has been the case all this time, the deal ultimately still hinges on Sesko's final decision. Man Utd sources insist that the 22-year-old favours a move to Old Trafford, but unless he actually communicates his choice, this means very little.

That said, Man Utd would not have presented their bid without buy-in from the player. However, Newcastle, too, have received Sesko's assent. According to Sky Germany and confirmed by Ben Jacobs, the striker has a broad agreement on personal terms with both clubs.

Fabrizio Romano, meanwhile, reports that Man Utd's bid is a clear statement of intent. After essentially promising Leipzig that an offer would be made, they have now put their money where their mouth is. It is also a message to Newcastle that they can still compete financially.

Romano states that Man Utd sources are convinced that Sesko has been waiting for them, and that this is why he has yet to formally agree to a Newcastle switch, despite the Magpies pushing hard for a quick deal. Everything now depends on Sesko's final decision.
