'SURPRISE' in Man Utd transfer saga as Celtic truth revealed
Manchester United outcast Tyrell Malacia has been left 'surprised' by links with Celtic, according to Dutch media.
The left-back remains in Old Trafford limbo. A member of Man Utd's 'Bomb Squad,' Malacia has no future under Ruben Amorim and is looking for a way out of Manchester.
However, so far, interest has been few and far between. In fact, at present, there appears to be quite simply no concrete interest in Malacia, despite Man Utd being desperate to get rid of the Dutchman.
While a departure before the deadline is still expected, the 25-year-old is unlikely to have a major influence on the rest of Man Utd's business. They need to raise funds for more incomings, but he won't fetch a major fee after seeing his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) drop to just €6.4 million.
Malacia spent the second half of last season on loan at PSV, but the Eredivisie champions have decided against making his stay permanent. Similarly, Celtic have refrained from reigniting their interest in him.
Celtic not in for Malacia
The Hoops were interested in him in January because Arsenal refused to release Kieran Tierney from his contract early, but the latter is now back at Celtic, and there has been no renewed interest from the Scottish giants in Malacia, despite some links in recent weeks.
According to Dutch journalist Joost Blaauwhof, Malacia and his camp are 'surprised' by links with Celtic as he has 'not heard anything from Scotland.'
The only genuine offer the Dutchman has received so far this summer came from an unnamed Saudi club. He is still waiting to receive fresh interest from potential suitors.
Malacia is training at Carrington, but Amorim has been fairly clear that the left-back is not suited to his system and will not be given any opportunities to showcase his talents.
