Man Utd reach agreement to sell Jadon Sancho
Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement to sell Jadon Sancho to AS Roma for a transfer fee of €22 million.
Gian Piero Gasperini’s side have emerged as strong contenders to sign the 25-year-old over the past week and they have now finalised terms with Man Utd ahead of a blockbuster summer transfer.
That is according to Nicolo Schira, who confirmed that Sancho is yet to green-light a move to the Serie A giants.
Schira posted on X: “AS Roma have reached an agreement with Manchester United to sign Jadon Sancho for €22M. Roma are now pushing to try to close the deal: ready a contract until 2030 for the winger and are working to agree personal terms on the salary with Sancho.”
Sancho spent the 2024-25 campaign on loan at Chelsea, but he returned to Man Utd in July after Enzo Maresca’s side opted to pay a penalty fee in order to cancel their obligation to purchase him on a permanent deal.
Jadon Sancho to join Roma?
Besiktas, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have all been linked with a move for the ex-England international since the start of the summer transfer window, however Roma have accelerated into the lead for his signature and a deal is now close to being completed.
However, Sancho will be required to accept a pay cut if he opts to join Roma, with the Italian outfit unlikely to boast the funds for his reported weekly wage of €290,000 (£250,000).
Since his return to Old Trafford, the 25-year-old has been excluded from first-team training by Man Utd boss Ruben Amorim and he has been told to find a new club before Transfer Deadline Day ends on 1 September.
Man Utd are also hoping to offload Alejandro Garnacho and Antony on permanent deals this summer, with the former in advanced talks to join Chelsea and the latter heavily linked with a return to Real Betis following a fruitful loan spell last term.
