Fabrizio Romano CONFIRMS Man Utd's next transfer
Manchester United midfielder Toby Collyer is reportedly on the verge of completing a loan transfer to West Bromwich Albion for the duration of the 2025-26 season.
The 21-year-old established himself as a regular first-team player under Ruben Amorim last campaign, racking up 13 appearances across all competitions, but he is set to leave Old Trafford on a temporary basis in order to aid his development.
Collyer was wanted by a number of Championship clubs this summer, and West Brom are currently in advanced talks to sign the Man Utd midfielder, as per The Athletic’s Laurie Whitwell.
This has been confirmed by football transfer news expert Fabrizio Romano, who posted on X: “Toby Collyer, on the verge of leaving Man United to join West Bromwich on loan. The agreement is imminent.”
West Brom will not have the option to make the deal permanent next summer, but they reportedly believe Collyer will aid their push for promotion back to the Premier League for the first time since 2020-21.
The 21-year-old’s imminent transfer to The Hawthorns comes following significant rumours linking Man Utd with a move for Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Carlos Baleba, who is likely to cost in excess of €120 million.
Man Utd’s summer transfer business
Man Utd have spent a whopping €229.7m on new signings so far this summer, with the club backing Amorim via the additions of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, Brentford winger Bryan Mbeumo, Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Matheus Cunha and Cerro Porteno defender Diego Leon.
Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford, Ethan Wheatley and Daniel Gore have departed Old Trafford on loan, and Christian Eriksen, Victor Lindelof and Jonny Evans have left upon the expiration of their contracts.
Man Utd are hoping to sell Alejandro Garnacho, Jadon Sancho, Tyrell Malacia and Antony on permanent deals before the end of the summer transfer window, while academy left-back Harry Amass has been heavily linked with a loan move to Sheffield Wednesday.
