Man Utd CLOSE to completing major summer transfer
Manchester United are edging closer to reaching an agreement for Royal Antwerp goalkeeper Senne Lammens.
The 23-year-old has been earmarked as Ruben Amorim’s priority transfer target ahead of Deadline Day and Man Utd are now on the verge of finalising a deal for the Belgian shot-stopper.
Lammens has agreed personal terms with the Red Devils and Royal Antwerp have seemingly confirmed that a transfer is close after they opted to omit him from their matchday squad to face KV Mechelen on Sunday afternoon.
The former Club Brugge goalkeeper started each of Antwerp’s first four league fixtures of the 2025-26 campaign, however Yannick Thoelen was selected in between the sticks versus Mechelen, while Taishi Brandon Nozawa was named on the substitutes bench.
BBC Sport reporter Simon Stone claims that Lammens’ exclusion was considered “best for all concerned”, while Fabrizio Romano posted on X: “Senne Lammens, left out of Royal Antwerp starting XI today as negotiations with Manchester United are advancing.
“The Belgian goalkeeper has agreed personal terms with Man United… and the two clubs are close to agreeing [a] fee.”
Lammens is expected to compete with Andre Onana for a starting berth at Old Trafford this season, although the Cameroon international could still leave Man Utd before Transfer Deadline Day amid his uncertain future at the club.

Man Utd’s summer transfers
Lammens is expected to become Man Utd’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Benjamin Sesko, Bryan Mbeumo, Matheus Cunha and Diego Leon.
The Red Devils are also hoping to sign a new central midfielder and they have turned their attention to Sevilla star Lucien Agoume after admitting defeat in their pursuit of Brighton & Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba.
