David Ornstein drops SHOCK Jadon Sancho update
There is no guarantee that Jadon Sancho will leave Manchester United this summer, according to David Ornstein.
The 25-year-old is still stuck at Old Trafford, having been sent back to Man Utd earlier this summer following a middling loan spell at Chelsea. Talks over a move away have been ongoing for months, but Sancho is still not close to leaving the Red Devils.
Juventus courted Sancho for weeks but eventually backed away from the deal due to its cost. The Bianconeri struggled to offload their unwanted players, and the England winger's agent reportedly demanded an exorbitant commission.
Roma and Besiktas were next to try their luck. Sancho quickly made it clear that he had no interest in a move to Turkey, but talks advanced with the Giallorossi. In fact, Man Utd even agreed a loan deal with a purchase obligation with the Serie A side.
However, this transfer also collapsed as Sancho rejected Roma's contract offer and informed the club that he wanted to explore other options. Bayern have since made a tentative enquiry, but Sancho is not a priority, and things have gone awfully quiet.
Could Sancho stay at Man Utd?
Worryingly for Man Utd, transfer insider David Ornstein on The Athletic believes that Sancho's future is still completely uncertain, and that there is no guarantee that he will secure a move away before the deadline.
Speaking about the 'Bomb Squads' at the Premier League's big clubs, Ornstein said of Sancho: "The one that's less certain is Sancho because I'm sure there is lots of interest, but it has to be right for him, and it definitely doesn't feel that we're as close to a resolution on that front as we are to others."
With that said, Ornstein makes sure to emphasise that Man Utd can still offload Sancho in January and before 30 June next summer to ease their concerns over financial regulations. However, it would mean paying the wages of a player who does not play and has no future at the club.
The window is still open for a few days in Europe's big leagues, so there may yet be developments on the Sancho front. Indeed, even after Deadline Day, the Turkish and Saudi window will remain open, and a move to Besiktas could be considered as a last resort by Sancho.
