Chelsea issue BRUTAL transfer message as fire sale continues
Chelsea have omitted nine first-team players from their squad list for the 2025-26 season as their summer fire sale continues.
The west London giants spent big during the opening few weeks of the summer transfer window and they have now turned their full attention to sanction player sales.
The Blues have already offloaded 11 players so far this summer, either on loan or permanently, but they remain eager to trim down Enzo Maresca’s squad ahead of the new Premier League campaign.
Noni Madueke, Joao Felix, Djordje Petrovic, Mathis Amougou, Bashir Humphreys, Kepa Arrizabalaga and Marcus Bettinelli have been sold for a combined €151.6 million, although several members of the club’s ‘Bomb Squad’ remain at Stamford Bridge.
However, Chelsea are eager to finalise their departures and they have now issued a brutal transfer message via their 2025-26 squad list.
Chelsea drop transfer hint
Chelsea returned to Cobham for pre-season training on Monday, following their triumphant participation at the Club World Cup, and the club subsequently released a 31-man senior squad list on their official website.
Summer signings Jorrel Hato, Dario Essugo, Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens were included, however nine big-names stars were omitted.
Alfie Gilchrist, Axel Disasi, Ben Chilwell, Renato Veiga, Carney Chukwuemeka, Lesley Ugochukwu, Raheem Sterling, Armando Broja and David Datro Fofana were all left out of the squad after spending time out on loan last season.
They are all expected to leave Chelsea on permanent deals this summer and their absence from the Blues’ squad list suggests they will not be reintegrated into Maresca’s first-team thinking.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Christopher Nkunku, Nicolas Jackson and Tyrique George were all included in Chelsea’s squad, although the former is on the verge of completing a move to Everton, while Nkunku, Jackson and George have been heavily linked with summer departures.
Marc Guiu was present too, but he is close to joining Sunderland on a season-long loan deal.
