Confirmed: Chelsea transfer to become official within 24 HOURS
Chelsea striker Armando Broja is “expected” to complete a permanent transfer to Burnley within the next 24 hours.
The Albania international has reached an agreement to join the newly-promoted Premier League outfit and he is now on the verge of being formally announced as their 13th summer signing for a fee of €23.1 million (£20m).
That is according to BBC Sport reporter Nizaar Kinsella, who states that Broja is expected to complete his move to Turf Moor on Friday afternoon or Saturday morning.
The 23-year-old is said to be “excited” by the prospect of leaving Chelsea on a permanent deal after four loan spells away from Stamford Bridge over the past few seasons.
Broja will become the third Chelsea player to join Burnley this summer following the arrivals of Lesley Ugochukwu for €28.7m and Bashir Humphreys for €14m.
The Albania striker has endured a torrid time with injuries since returning from a fruitful loan stint at Southampton, with the Chelsea academy graduate notably rupturing his ACL during a friendly against Aston Villa in December 2022.
He subsequently only mustered 11 appearances on loan at Everton last term, largely due to two separate injury issues, and he will be aiming to enjoy a consistent run of games at Burnley this season.
Who else will Chelsea sell this summer?
In addition to Broja, Chelsea are also eager to sell the likes of Axel Disasi, Ben Chilwell, Christopher Nkunku and Raheem Sterling on permanent deals before the end of the summer transfer window.
The Blues have already raised €209m through nine player sales so far this summer, with Noni Madueke, Joao Felix and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall among the stars to have departed Stamford Bridge since the beginning of June.
Meanwhile, Enzo Maresca’s side are currently pursuing moves for Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho and RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Xavi Simons.
