Arsenal are 'scaring off' Jakub Kiwior's suitors with their €30 million asking price, according to a report.

The Poland international is in the spotlight during every transfer window. Despite being a reliable Premier League defender, Kiwior struggles for minutes at Arsenal when the first-choice centre-back pairing of William Saliba and Gabriel Magalhaes is fit.

This naturally makes him an attractive option for suitors who believe that they can entice him with the promise of a regular starting role, but Arsenal have so far always held firm.

Mikel Arteta values Kiwior for his professionalism and versatility, and this has seen the Gunners repeatedly slap a hefty price tag on his head. Italian clubs, in particular, are huge admirers of the 25-year-old, but his cost has thus far prevented a transfer.

This trend appears to be continuing this summer. Fabrizio Romano recently confirmed that Kiwior could be one to watch in the final weeks of the window, but he also acknowledged that Arteta remains reluctant to let him leave.

Arsenal scare off Kiwior suitors

The transfer insider also revealed that an unnamed Portuguese club recently had a formal bid rejected for the Pole, with subsequent reports suggesting that Porto were the side in question. They have since signed compatriot Jan Bednarek from Southampton.

According to A Bola, Porto were indeed interested in Kiwior and approached Arsenal regarding a deal, but claims of an official offer are described as wide of the mark.

Porto, the report claims, never got to the stage of presenting a bid for the versatile defender because they were 'scared off' by Arsenal's €30 million asking price.

It is added that there is no way that Arsenal will sanction Kiwior's exit this summer for a fee below this €30m mark. He is still under contract until 2028 and currently has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €35.4m, so Arsenal are in no rush to offload him.
