Victor Osimhen transfer news today: ‘SENSATIONAL’ twist as €160m offer told to wait
Victor Osimhen continues to be stuck at Napoli, with the Nigeria star waiting for a suitable transfer offer.
Osimhen has been linked with a string of major clubs in the Premier League, including Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester United, but his wage demands have put off these sides. His position of insisting on €12 million per year is well established.
So what’s happening with the 26-year-old now?
Osimhen picks Man Utd
Osimhen wants to move to Manchester United this summer, in bombshell news reported by Fichajes.
The Red Devils are known to want a new centre-forward this summer, and the Nigerian star is reportedly willing to make the move, despite their lack of European football.
What is in doubt, however, is United’s ability to fund a deal.
Serie A transfer options as Napoli stance is clear
Corriere della Serra reports that Osimhen is not planning to show up for Napoli pre-season training, although he will only tell the club this on 10 July.
Meanwhile, there are Serie A teams lining up a move for him for the value of his €75m release fee, which is not technically valid for Italian sides. AC Milan and Juventus are said to be following his case.
Juve are said to have even formulated a swap deal that would have seen Dusan Vlahovic go to Napoli, but the Serbia international rejected the opportunity to sign for the Serie A champions in what has been described as a “sensational” development.
Vlahovic release to pave way for Osimhen deal?
Juventus’ response to Vlahovic’s stance promises to be emphatic – and could even act as an opportunity to sign Osimhen.
Tuttosport reports that the Turin side are considering terminating the contract of the 25-year-old because they want to free up salary space. Vlahovic is currently the best-paid player in Serie A.
Although Igor Tudor’s outfit have already signed Jonathan David as a free agent, they are pushing for another major signing. Offloading Vlahovic could be the key move to allow Osimhen to arrive.
Massive Saudi offer on the table
Even with offers from big European clubs seemingly in a holding pattern, Osimhen does have the attractive fallback option of a switch to the Saudi Pro League.
He has been offered an extravagant contract worth €160m at Al-Hilal, but Corriere della Serra states that he has put the Saudi club on hold until his options elsewhere become more apparent.
