Victor Osimhen close to BOMBSHELL transfer as Nigeria sensation picks next club
Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has chosen to join Manchester United this summer, according to a bombshell report in Spain.
The Nigeria international is expected to leave Napoli on a permanent deal ahead of the 2025-26 campaign, having spent last season on loan at Galatasaray, and Man Utd are among the clubs monitoring his situation closely.
The Red Devils are hoping to bring a new centre forward to the club following Rasmus Hojlund’s woes since his arrival from Atalanta in 2023, and they have earmarked Osimhen as a top target after missing out on Liam Delap to Chelsea earlier this summer.
The 26-year-old has also been linked with the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool and Juventus over the past few months, although Saudi Pro League outfit Al-Hilal appear to be Man Utd’s most serious competitors for his signature.
Simone Inzaghi’s side have lodged an initial contract proposal worth €160m across a four-year deal, as per reports, but Osimhen has surprisingly set his sights on completing a move to Man Utd instead, despite their failure to qualify for Europe last term.
That is according to a sensational report from Spanish outlet Fichajes, who claim that Osimhen has decided to secure an Old Trafford transfer this summer. However, it remains to be seen if Man Utd are able to reach an agreement with Napoli.
Victor Osimhen to join Man Utd?
The ex-England international told his YouTube channel in June: “No.9? They already know who I want. The comments know, the people know who I want, who I would go and get: Osimhen!
“It looks like he’s turned down Al-Hilal… he must be waiting for Man Utd. I don’t know if Man Utd are going to come. That’s the problem.”
Osimhen, whose Napoli contract is due to expire next summer, has an Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) of €67.9m, although interested clubs will likely be required to trigger his €75m release clause in order to finalise a deal this summer.
