Viktor Gyokeres’ transfer saga has turned into a soap opera, with the Sporting CP striker splitting with his girlfriend over a move. Now the Sweden star has rejected two big-money offers as the fallout in Lisbon continues.
Gyokeres continues to prioritise the Premier League
Gyokeres has confirmed that he will not leave Sporting for the Saudi Pro League, having turned down two bumper offers from the big-spending division, according to Record.

The Portuguese source claims that talks have been held with Al-Qadsiah and Al-Hilal, yet both of these offers have been rejected.
Ultimately, Gyokeres believes that a move to Saudi would not be right for him at this stage in his career.
Instead, he continues to prioritise a move to the Premier League and, above all, Arsenal, where he is reported prepared to sign a five-year contract.
Agent accused of ‘intimidation and threats’
Gyokeres’ agent Hasan Cetinkaya stands accused of “intimidation and threats” by A Bola, which has studied the history of the Swede’s representative.
It says: “Constant threats and intimidation are just another day in Hasan Cetinkaya's office.”
The paper points out that Gyokeres ran into similar issues when he departed Coventry City for Sporting.
Indeed, it is claimed that there was a similar scenario in Lisbon last year, when Gyokeres was also linked with a string of major clubs. The difference is that the problem did not appear in the public space.
Gyokeres is using strong-arm tactics to try to force a move this summer. He was supposed to travel to Lisbon on Sunday and report for training on Monday, but he remains absent from the club’s pre-season preparations.
However, A Bola points out: “The final chapter of Cetinkaya’s threats ends up with the deal being done. Not for the amount suggested, but for a figure closer to what the club initially wanted.”
Breakup reaction
It was announced that Gyokeres’ had ended his relationship with actress Ines Aguiar because he did not want any ties to Portugal when he leaves Sporting.
The subject has caused great excitement in the Portuguese media, where the couple had attained celebrity status, despite trying to keep their relationship low key.
Teresa Guilherme told CMTV: “I’m very sad things ended like this.”
The TV presenter, who is known as Portugal’s Queen of Reality TV shows, previously expressed her doubts as to whether the relationship could survive the distance, and she has been proven right.
